Negative clear blue - should I try FRER?

Hi guys,

I’m completely new to this whole TTC malarkey so please bare with!

So I’m currently on CD28, 11 DPO (I think... I had an early miscarriage at the end of last month so it’s a bit difficult to work out, but I counted the first day of bleeding as CD1). Anyway! I’ve just got home from work and done a clear blue test (non-digital) which was definitely negative. However, some FRER tests just came in the post. So I was wondering whether anyone reckons it’s worth trying a first response test this evening as well? I’ve heard they’re more sensitive to hCG than clear blue, but is that even true?

Anyone ever got negative on Clearblue non-digital tests and positive with FRER? Will my urine not have enough hCG even if I wait a few hours?

Thanks!

Personally, I'd wait for the morning to test. Good luck.

Apparently 4 hours without fluids is the same as FMU. But I’d wait until the morning just to be sure

Thanks for the advice guys. But you’re supposed to say “yeah just go for it”! Grin

Anyone had experience with getting a negative with Clearblue and positive with FREE though?

Yeah, go for it!

Frer is more sensitive so if you have lower levels cb won't detect but frer might be able to.

Also have a look at that link it's great I was wondering why my lines are darker at night!

😆 yeah, I've had negative tests, then positive FRER. a whole range of other tests incl. Clear blue.
How many did you get? There's no harm in testing now apart from the disappointment if its negative of course 🙈

@ZigZaggyZoo I got 8 by accident Grin thought I’d bought 2. Anyway... just did one and it was negative. Should have just waited! AF is due Saturday (again, not 100% sure about that) - there’s still chance to get a positive isn’t there?!

@Dunsten I don't want you to get your hopes up or waste expensive tests.

Firstly sorry for your loss, miscarriage is very hard to deal with.

First day of bleeding cannot be calculated as cd1, your body has to start returning to normal and this doesn't happen the day you miscarry.

You need to wait until you have negative tests before you can start to ttc again. Your body has to reduce the hcg levels naturally. For me this took 9.5 weeks. This is why some medical professionals advise to wait until you've had a cycle. This allows you to date it.

Did you check for definite ovulation this month?

There is a few who fall pregnant again very quickly but it's not a high number.

If you're sure you've ovulated please wait until your af is late before testing. I've been there where you're convinced you're pregnant but you're not. It's your body trying to adjust to a new normal.

I hope you get your positive and a sticky bean ❤️
