When do you get the strongest line on pg test?

Hi everyone

Out of curiosity really. Has anyone tested at different times of the day and noticed when the line is darkest / lighter than they might have thought.

Yesterday I did an ic with fmu then one on a couple hour hold at 8pm
Same today. Both evening ones are far stronger than the fmu ones. All tests advise before af is due to use fmu. Is this odd or has anyone else had this happen? 🤷🏻‍♀️

Hi @Abi58 I am obsessed with this. FMU is not always the answer. Which makes sense really as the latter in the day the more hormone you will have produced. As long as you hold for a few hours and don't drink too much later in the day is better

As you can see your chances of detecting pregnancy at 8dpo significantly increase {by nearly 50%) in the evening.

I've been testing like a mad woman since last week - my tests are always darker in the evenings
I read somewhere that protein in urine can metabolise the hcg so on your longest hold overnight it actually eats away at it hence lighter tests with FMU

@Whyhaveidonethis thank you so much for sharing that is a brilliant table! I've been on that website a few times but had no idea that was there! At least it's not just me and I'm not going mad 😂

Thankfully now last nights was stronger I feel better but after light then stronger then light I was panicking!

@itwasalovelydreamwhileitlasted thank you :) so glad I'm not the only one 😂 oh wow didn't know that, we (I) know so little about how our bodies work 🙈 amazing though!

@Abi58 it's good isn't it. It drives me mad that everyone is so obsessed with FMU... Especially since I get up in the night to pee half the time!!

Abi58 · 26/06/2019 07:11

@Whyhaveidonethis omg me too! I'm doomed when I'm more pregnant/after I'm already like an 80 year old woman 🙈
Before bed last night about 11
4 am
6.45 am

😂

Looks like I've managed to get a decent line on that short hold at did it at 6.45 but gutted I might have had a stronger one if I hadn't peed 😂

Been doing frers in the am and ics in evening
(Just scared I'll have another chemical so I'm like a women obsess with POas atm!) might get some more frers today so I can try this eve and just see out of curiosity 😁

I have seemed to get a stronger line early afternoon, I have somehow convinced myself that FMU has too much of the pregnacare in it that's why it's not showing as strong.
That is my personal theory, I may well be wrong!

MrsxRocky · 26/06/2019 08:22

I tested day off missed period and never t tested again

Katie7515 · 27/06/2019 09:51

Yes!!

I've had two ivf pregnancies and 2 healthy toddlers and each time my bfp was an afternoon. Trying to conceive naturally baby #3 and got a faint line yesterday afternoon but negative this morning :-( hoping it's the time of day!

I need to get this table ha!

Abi58 · 27/06/2019 10:28

@MrsC89 ooo interesting theory!

@MrsxRocky I had an early miscarriage last month so a bit paranoid it's going to happen again so testing to make sure it's still there....what will happen will happen but it makes me feel better 🤷🏻‍♀️

@Katie7515 all tests say fmu so I was confused when my evening ones were darker (concerned me when my eve was darker than my morning was barely visible) try again later 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻 for you

As an update I did a test around lunch time and faintly positive again so it's definitely better for me as the day goes along .... yet to do my late afternoon one! Where is the chart from? I'm dying to download it but can't find anywhere x

Abi58 · 27/06/2019 15:53
