Which would you consider first day of cycle?

I have a slightly irregular cycle which ranges from 28 days to 32. A couple of weeks ago on day 28, throughout the course of the day I got brown discharge and then a bit of blood with a couple of tiny clots. Two pantyliner's worth, if that. When I got the little clots I switched over to a pad, expecting AF to be in full swing very soon. But then there was nothing at all... for 4 whole days, at which point AF did come on in full force!! I was very disappointed as was hoping that we'd been successful (did 2 tests during the 4 days and both negative).

So anyway, do you think should I consider the light spotting day the first day of this cycle, or the day the full on bleeding started 4 days after that?

I had 3 days of weird spotting on my last cycle before AF properly arrived. Was at the GP as I got a BFP and she said proper flow is CD1.
I hope that helps!

Yep. I was told the same. Don’t count spotting as the first day.
