Progesterone Pessaries.... thoughts?

SO....very briefly. We started IVF in March/April. The first fresh egg transfer stuck but unfortunately we lost it at 5 weeks :(

We have 1 frozen embryo left but wanted to take a few months break in between. Just casually still TTC.

I have quite a few of the progesterone pessaries left and wonder if any one has tried them during natural conception? I've read that they are sometimes prescribed anyway and one of my issues was a thinner lining...?

Thoughts anyone? Do I just give it a go?! X

Firstly sorry to hear for your loss, and wishing you all the success and baby dust for your ttc journey!

I was prescribed these for one of my pregnancies after I lost twins I found out it was due to a short cervix, thinning too quickly, was prescribed them for my (now 4 year old) she was born at 27 weeks, but threatened to come at 20 weeks, so they definitely helped (along with an emergency stitch)

Can't do any harm, and only help, I personally would probably only stuck using them after falling pregnant, as don't know how much use they are when ttc?

Maybe someone else who has used them for ttc and help further though Smile

Sorry that was meant to say *only start

Ah so sorry for your loss @LadyBirr13 but lovely news about your little girl!

Yes I think they are most commonly used after falling pregnant but in my case, I was taking them for a week in the build up to the egg transplant and it seemed to help, it thickened my lining up and helped it stick (along with estrogen) but just didn't get very far.

We are waiting for our frozen transfer but just thought 1 more month of TTC naturally, can't do any harm! x

Thank you Smile she's our miracle and wish you receive your miracle soon too!

Then I would start using them already for sure if that's what you did last time and they helped!

They cause no harm and will only help.
Also just a little advice from my experience with the thinning, when you do fall pregnant and have check ups, I would ask them to keep an eye on your cervix length, this really should be compulsory but isn't, and I had to keep demanding to be checked, it's very important with thinning.🙏🏻
