Hi everyone,

So I got my bfp this morning (providing I'm not hallucinating 😁)
So so excited and happy but also very nervous and worried as last month I had a chemical pregnancy (early miscarriage) last month and am worried it could happen again so keeping everything crossed 🤞🏻that this is a sticky baby!

Sending lots of luck and baby dust to you all 💕

I think I've got my BFP!

@satsumasaturday how do you work it out based on ovulation? I've done mine from my last period

That should be fine to see something 🤞🏻 mine is only 2 days later at 6+5 🤞🏻 I see something and it doesn't send me into a mad panic when I'm meant to be happy telling everyone 🙈

That's looking great! The test line is darker! 😁

I may have also peed on another. I had another 4 frers so I tested last night more for fun to see what happened and it's definitely stronger which is reassuring 😂🙈
The test line appeared dark very quickly so I got a pic of if travelling though the window 😂

@MrsLBear thank you ☺️ it was mainly to keep my sanity and for anyone that was interested 😁 (only told my husband last week so I needed company!)

I had an early miscarriage last month and so after getting positive tests I was just so worried and nervous it would happen again I went to the dr to get it on record in case anything did happen and asked if they could do a blood test, they said they don't do that which actually made me panic more than I expected and I full on cried he then looked on the computer and said they could do it so printed me the forms (he was ridiculously kind to me I was just a bit of a mess!)

Have you got your bfp? ☺️

I think I've got my BFP!

Hi @Abi58
I've been reading your posts with interest and I'm so happy for you Smile you must be absolutely thrilled. Huge congratulations on your BDP!!
I wanted to ask for some advice, as it will be my first month TTC. I've used OPK's for the past few months in the run up to having my coil removed (on 16th July-eek!) just to see if I was having an LH surge. I seem to be getting a positive test on CD16. So does that mean that's ovulation day? Or the day after? And when would you recommend DTD?
Sorry if you'd rather not be asked questions. X
Congratulations again!

Abi58 · 06/07/2019 17:08

@noodlesoup99 thank you so much ☺️

I'm no expert but I'm happy to help where I can 😁

I'm not sure how the coil works I didn't have a surge while i was on the pill as it stopped ovulation. If your coil stops pregnancy by something else and still allows ovulation and you've had that for a couple of months I'd say that could be your regular cycle.

Just bear in mind that if your coil releases hormones your cycle might affected when it's removed so I'd still use opks after to make sure you get the timing right :)

Usually you ovulate 12-36 hours after a positive opk and I think they recommend regular dtd before ovulation (so if you know when you ovulate if you don't dtd that regularly normally you know when to) (a lot of people have followed smep - is google it as I'm not 100% but I think it involves after a certain cd dtd every other day until positive opk then for that day and a couple of days after every day)

As long as you are in your fertile window you have a chance, if you have the fertile Cm sperm can live for I think 5 days and your egg survives for I think 24 hours if it's not fertilised so best to dtd before and on ov 😁

Like I said no expert we dtd most days (always have) but it's a lot if it's not something you're used to

Do you know when you're having it removed to start ttc?

Also sorry for the long message that doesn't actually have much hard info in 🙈

@Abi58 thank you so much for taking the time to reply Smile it's so nice to chat to people who are experiencing similar things.
I'm having it out on 16th July, just over a week to go, I'm so excited.
It's a copper coil so no hormones at all, and apparently fertility will return to its normal state once it's removed. In fact, I read that the very same day it's removed, you're back to normal fertility.
It's coming out on CD14 and working out from using OPK's previously, I think I'll be due to get the LH surge on CD16, so my plan is to DTD everyday from having it out. (We DTD regularly too, so won't be a problem, heehee)
Gosh it's all I can think about!

Abi58 · 06/07/2019 17:41

@noodlesoup99 it's ok anything to help , we're all in the same boat 😁
Oh wow yeah thats soon ☺️
Just had a little google on how it works and yeah sounds like straight away you should be good to go as not hormonal! So that sounds like a good plan!
Are you going to do opks again just to make sure it's the same?
As we dtd regularly I used them when I stopped the pill to know when things were happening but carried on as although it didn't change our dtd it helped me know how many dpo I was approx so I didn't test too early etc, I also temped but I just love knowing what my body is doing 😂🙈 it helped narrow down when I actually ovulated as you have a temp rise the day after ☺️
🤞🏻 for you and definitely keep us updated 😁

OP posts:
noodlesoup99 · 06/07/2019 17:45

@Abi58 yes, definitely going to use OPKs after it's removed, just so I can see where I'm at.
I'm hoping things just continue as they usually would.
I will definitely keep you posted, and thanks again so much for replying.
It's great that we all support each other. X

Abi58 · 06/07/2019 17:54

@noodlesoup99 that's good, if you haven't try the one step ones from eBay (might be Amazon as well) they are so cheap and worked fine for me ☺️

Yes definitely do! Can't wait to hear them ☺️

I agree, everyone has been so lovely and supportive and I think because we're all in the same situation we are as helpful as can be as at some point we have or will need it as well ☺️💕

OP posts:
MrsLBear · 07/07/2019 07:34

@Abi58 I see, no I don't but like you I also had a miscarriage. Back in February though and have been patiently waiting since then. I did test a few times after I found out and the line did go strong as I had a mmc around 6 weeks and I found out around 10 weeks. I will definitely go to my drs then when and if the time comes as I know I'm going to panic 24/7.
Glad to see your line is so strong!

Abi58 · 07/07/2019 07:37

@MrsLBear I'm so sorry for your loss 💕 definitely worth it for peace of mind, I looked into it and if the dr didn't do it I was going to pay to have it done privately, also booked for an early scan at 6+5 which I know is really early but wanted to see something before telling parents.

🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻Keeping everything crossed for you and hope this is your month! Where are you in your cycle? Would love to hear your updates ☺️

OP posts:
MrsLBear · 07/07/2019 07:39

@noodlesoup99 I would also recommend the one step opks they are super cheap and you don't feel bad for using a few a day when you're getting to close to your o day as they come in a huge bag. How long did you have the coil for?
Wishing you all the best with ttc!! I know what you mean once you say right let's do it, it doesn't leave your mind. It's so easy to become a little bit obsessed with it and I love it on here because you can express some of that craziness and everyone gets it whereas I feel in "real life" people say the same "supportive" things to no fault of their own but if they aren't going through it it's hard to know.
Do you have a period with the coil? If so were you regular?

MrsLBear · 07/07/2019 07:45

@Abi58 thanks lovely 🥰 sorry to hear of yours too. You're lucky to fall so quickly again as well!
Totally agree. I will 100% have an early scan. Tbh I was thinking anytime from around 6 weeks anyway. I mean they might have to do an internal which I would be totally fine with just to know if everything is ok cos I know that 6 weeks is quite a sticking point in terms of early miscarriages. When is your scan?
Ah thank you 🙂🙂 I am 2 or 3 DPO. I used to temp and I left my bloody thermometer in a hotel room around cd7 so just abondoned it this cycle so I got a static smiley on cb digitals (won't be buying them again though so expensive) on Wednesday so I either O'd Thursday or Friday. I normally feel something but I didn't at all this time so can't even have a guess. Unlike yourself, we don't DTD loads and loads. I mean 1 or 2 times a week normally but I got the static on the first day of our holiday and we just naturally did that day the day after and then yesterday so I feel like we could have done enough. Oh and 2 days before I got it. But you never know!

How have you been feeling? Any signs or symptoms? How many weeks do you make yourself? Sorry if you've said this I might have missed it.

noodlesoup99 · 07/07/2019 08:29

Thanks @MrsLBear and @Abi58
I've ordered some of the onestep ones from eBay Smile they are in a pack with some pregnancy tests too - which feels super scary because I've never done a pregnancy test in my life! (I'm aware they'll be pretty crap though and not early response ones) anyway, I've had my coil in for about 5 years. It absolutely killed getting it inserted Confused and it was a brutal first 6 months. My periods went from 4 medium flow days to 7 heavy ones, but I'm completely used to it now and it's been great for me. Super regular cycle, 27/28 days, and I'm so in tune with my body. I swear I can feel myself ovulating too, so I'm hoping it continues this way once it's removed in a week. I've read that a few people have come on their period earlier after having it removed, because of the 'intrusion' and also some people have ovulated earlier... but then others have said it's not affected it at all and continued as they have been the previous months. Only time will tell eh! X

Abi58 · 07/07/2019 09:13

@MrsLBear 🥰 you're very welcome! Thank you, we do fee very lucky 💕 how long did it take you before?
🤞🏻 This is your month!
Have you tried anything different? There's pineapple and Brazil nuts that's I've heard of, also I've heard that if you're both really turned on it helps (something gross sounding about the cervix gulping 🙈)
Yeah I'm just hoping I'm not somehow earlier than I think and they scare us 🙈
Think we May end up having another to break it up before the 12 week if I'm still nervous / it's a nice experience ☺️
It's booked for the 17th July at 6 weeks 5 days 🤞🏻
oh you're in the tww ☺️ so excited for you!
I've temped as well to help confirm it, oh no! Will you order a new one?

That's good! I tried that this month and only got flashing even though I had 24 hours of positive on one step ones 🙈 they are really expensive, I got mine on eBay but still expensive!

Everyone is different but it definitely sounds like you've covered the bases of before during and after 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻 for you 🥰

I'm 5+2 today so still early got quite a few symptoms but nothing extreme (yet)

Waves of nausea
Loss of appetite at times (not finishing my dinner)
Bloated (look 6 months!)
Oily shiny skin and spots 😩
A lot more sleepy but not sure if it could be pg this early

OP posts:
Abi58 · 07/07/2019 09:17

@noodlesoup99 the one step pregnancy tests are 10 so are actually quite sentive and showed faintly the same day I got a positive on frer (frer was clearer but one step worked for me as well)

If you're using the opks you should be able to see what's happening so at least if there is a change you will know ☺️ 🤞🏻 getting it out is better for you than it going in and 🤞🏻 you stay regular ☺️

OP posts:
Abi58 · 07/07/2019 09:17

*sensitive

OP posts:
noodlesoup99 · 07/07/2019 11:32

@Abi58 what does a '10' mean? X

Abi58 · 07/07/2019 14:00

@noodlesoup99 it's the sensitivity of how much of the hormone is in your wee before it detects it not sure of the measurement miu or something

Frer are 6-7 one step are 10 clear blue are 25 (less sensitive)

OP posts:
MrsLBear · 07/07/2019 14:42

@noodlesoup99 oh that makes me flinch just thinking about it. One of my friends wants to get it but hasn't got round to it and I did say surely it hurts but she seems to think it won't. It seems like a good solution though for the sake of not pumping your body full off hormones. Will it hurt the same having it removed? I hope for your sake it doesn't!
Well hopefully it doesn't disrupt things too much for you! It's nice that you've been able to keep track of cycles with it too.

@Abi58 well we fell the first month of using opks last time but we had been "trying" so not using anything from June to December on and off. We did miss most of July, August and September though as I was cautious of falling pg when I'd be due in May as it was a really close friends wedding and I played a big part in it. And then really since October we were all systems go and then like I said tried opks in December and bam. However I've done that for 3 or is it 2 cycles now and nothing as of yet. I lose track sometimes haha. It all blends into one big emotional rollercoaster 😂
I have heard the pineapple thing but Brazil nuts are a new one!! Might have to give that a crack haha.
Well weirdly I was really erm ok this word makes me cringeeeee to high heavens but horny (can't believe I'm using it but there's no alternative! Haha) over the days I was supposedly O'ing so hoping that's a good sign. Wait what haha cervix gulping?! Now I've heard it all. Makes me think of a puffer fish for some reason 😂😂
That's so exciting as that's not long to wait!!! Got everything crossed for you!!
I said if we fail this month again I will get another one but part of me wants to go cold turkey next cycle if it doesn't happen as I feel like I need a opk and well ovulation tracking break.

That all sounds just how I felt. So sleepy and I think nausea almost hits bang on 6 weeks too.
All that sounds really positive!!!
Have you told your partner now?

Abi58 · 07/07/2019 14:53

@MrsLBear sonit happened relatively quickly before (with the not really paying attention and missing it for a few months). The few months now have you been just seeing what happens or using opks?

Apparently Brazil nuts help implantation

Haha don't worry there isn't really a better way to describe it! I get horny around ovulation as well. It's what's made me check again on the opk 😂🙈
I think it's our bodies way of making sure we do things at the right time so just go with it 😂

Haha yeah it sounds gross but google it apparently it's a thing

I know 10 days! Eek so excited! And nervous 🙈

A break could be what you need, timing it can take the fun out of it and put on extra pressure which can affect things but 🤞🏻 this is your month and it's not needed!

Ah thank you I hope so! Not been sick yet but we'll see 😂
Yeah I told him last Saturday ☺️ he was over the moon and keeps holding my stomach and talking about what we're going to do 🥰

OP posts:
MrsLBear · 07/07/2019 16:24

@Abi58 yeah tbf it did actually. Looking back though we literally DTD every other day during my fertile window.
It's weird cos I hadn't noticed it lately I dunno if that's to do with the fact that I've been feeling pressured with it or what. Hopefully it's a good sign this month.
Ah that is so bloody cute!! Bless him.
What have you worked your due date as?

Abi58 · 07/07/2019 16:45

@MrsLBear ah that's good then and sounds promising ☺️🤞🏻
I know he's ridiculously cute 🥰
According to my last period I'm due 7th March 😁
