TTC straight off the pill, don’t know my cycle, when to test?!

Hi all,

I took my last contraceptive pill on the 9th of June and have since had my withdrawal bleed. I was in the pill 10 years and we were going to wait until at least my first natural period but it kinda hasn’t worked out like that... I know it’s advisable to wait til you know your cycle so the baby’s due date can be worked out more accurately but we’re inpatient!

No idea when to test?? Shall I test weekly? Two weekly? Or wait and see if a period happens?

I kinda wish I knew my cycle now. How will they be able to give an accurate due date given my clumsiness?

If you only came off the pill on 9th June, that's only 3 weeks so a test wouldn't show as positive anyway. I would give it another 2 weeks and if your period hasn't come then test. When I came off the pill it took me 10 weeks to get my first period.

Hello! I did this the first time I ttc and in hindsight I should have probably waited for my first period as it drove me mad not knowing! Eventually I came on 7 weeks later. Same as you, 10 years on the pill.

I would suggest waiting until week 6 rather than your typical week 4 purely because I find it tough seeing a negative no matter how many months you have been ttc!

I stopped the pill first week in April and still waiting for my period to come back 🙈 I’m so inpatient too so it’s driving me nuts
