Using lubricant when ttc

Hi all, I wanted to know if any of you had managed to get pregnant whilst also using lubricants. If so did you use a specific one or just a standard product?

This thread is quite old now and inactive. If you've found this page in search of lubricants that have been tried and tested by fellow Mumsnet users, you might find our guide to the best lubes useful. Hope this helps! MNHQ 💐

Hi,
We've been TTC since January and have just been using our regular lubricant (didn't see the point of buying new stuff when we had a perfectly good tube at home!). I've just found out that I'm 6 weeks pregnant, so it doesn't seem to have affected us.
Good luck x

I don't use it personally. But I've read on here that pre-seed and conceive plus are the ones to use if you do use lube, apparently they don't harm sperm like other lives do.

And by lives, I meant lubes Grin

We were TTC for 18 months, using the pre seed lube for the last 2 months, and conceived on the 2nd month! Obviously I can't say if it's because of that... I was also tracking my periods and using OPKs

Can't remember brands except Boots jelly (that's the I one I prefer but used another one when we ran out occasionally). Never used lube until got with DH (we're not size compatible!) but can't have sex with him without it so DD was definitely conceived while using lube.

Thanks for your answers! I heard that preseed and Conceive plus are recommendee but I am scared to use them as I have seen bad reviews about them with people getting yeast infections. I am currently using yes water based as there is no questionable ingredients but worried that it might jeopardise any chance of conceiving...

We are using Pre-Seed during my FW, and it's lovely! Nice lube, no issues with yeast infections. I'm not sure why there would be, as it's supposedly "vagina friendly". The applicators are good, but you don't need a full "syringe" - half will do. A little goes a long way, so it isn't as expensive as it seems.

I used concieve plus, hadn't used lube before but thought what's the harm. Got my BFP last weekend, not saying it helped, but didnt do any harm 😀

We use pre-seed
