Idiots guide to OPK's

I'm hoping someone can help me please.....I'm starting to wish I'd never started with OPK's! I started off with v faint line (which I know is negative) and it gradually got darker over the space of a few days but never dark enough to be positive. I stopped doing them as DH and I doing BD (cringe.....can we campain for a better abbreviation please?!) every other day and I was getting a bit obsessed with doing the tests.

Anyway, just done one now out of curiosity and there's there's no line at all, compared with fairly dark one a couple of days ago. Could I just have missed my LH surge....do these tests get darker leading up to ovulation? I had D&C for a MMC on 25th May so no idea when ovulation should/will be. Lots of ovulation type twinges but not sure if that's just everything getting back to normal after my miscarriage. Thanks......wish I'd never bought the bloody things!

To be honest I've found opks to be an added stress , I would go back to how you did things before without testing because the rise and fall of Lh is actually so fiddly it's not worth the stress , just forget about them if you can and BD as much as you can , you are bound to be successful again for sure ! Good luck :) x

I much prefer charting my BBT. If you have a regular routine then it could suit you too - generally less ambiguous.
