@lindymoe, congratulations on your bfp 🙂👍

@Validuser, I'm good thanks hun. We're on holiday and having a nice time although I have randomly started crying 3 times in the last 2 days! It's our 7 year wedding anniversary today so off for a nice meal tonight. Glad to hear your 'cup' is working! Good luck at your scan xx Will they do the trigger again? Xx

Larrydavid · 23/06/2019 15:06

@LindyMoe huge congratulations!!
@ValidUser I love your message - 'go tell your OH you're pregnant, I'm a doctor' - I didn't know you were a 👩‍⚕️ - also I had to google soft cup!

@Lozzlepop has your smep marathon finished yet??

@FlapJackered so great that there's no reason for you to not get pregnant. I love that the doc has taken control - must feel like a relief!

Larrydavid · 23/06/2019 15:08

I'm still getting flashing smileys on CB opks - though we've been having fun with SMEP - this does mean that timing-wise, we'll be in the very fertile bit during glasto. Oh well, we'll make it work somehow!

Does anyone else use the clear blue opks and if so, does the high fertility length vary for you each month?

ELW85 · 23/06/2019 15:18

@Larrydavid - I use the CB OPKs with IC strips as it gets a bit expensive to test twice a day with just the CB.
Mine varies too, but if you use the same holder, it gets more data on your individual levels which will help narrow it down over a few cycles.

Kiza · 23/06/2019 15:41

@ValidUser ahhh just googled it and it's a menstrual cup, already have one of those. Although I have to squat to put mine in TMI 🤦🏼‍♀️ so not sure how I'd manage to catch everything in time 😆

Larrydavid · 23/06/2019 15:52

@ELW85 ahh cool. I didn't realize you could use the clear blue ones twice a day. I don't want to miss my ov (and desperately want it to come soon!)

MrsH497 · 23/06/2019 16:28

Just when I thought AF had finished me and DH DTD this morning then bad some watery blood which is annoyed

ValidUser · 23/06/2019 16:54

@kiza mine went in easy with a bit of conceive plus, but had horrendous trouble getting it out. 😂

@Lozzlepop @Fivebyfive2 @Larrydavid my scan is to tell me when to trigger. Feeling it's unlikely to work, so a bit tired of it all, but nice and calm.

ValidUser · 23/06/2019 17:02

@Larrydavid I tagged you and never answered your question! I used to use the clearblue sticks.

Some months they gave me peak on day 9 without any high (and positive on day 14/15 with cheapies). Other months I got no peak at all and had ovulation confirmed with bloods (and once even saw the collapsed follicle on ultrasound).

The cheapie OPKs have always been better for me, but I know not everyone agrees!

orangeloo · 23/06/2019 22:08

@LindyMoe yaaay congratulations!! Wishing you a happy and healthy nine months.

@ValidUser I put my cup in too last time. I layed for an hour with it in but then got the ick and got worried about getting an infection haha. But I figured that was still good as I read it takes sperm half an hour to reach the Fallopian tube. Think I will do this around all near Ov days now. Fingers crossed.

LindyMoe · 23/06/2019 22:29

Aww thanks everyone! Testing again on Wednesday to make sure x

Larrydavid · 23/06/2019 22:48

@ValidUser ahh ok. So not really predictable at all - the only reason I've not bought cheap ones is because I like to get it out of the way first thing in the morning.

I tested again on the clear blue one tonight and got peak fertility which has made my day as I can keep my sex in a tent at a festival to an absolute minimum! Hurray. Sticking to SMEP by the letter and didn't want to let a tent defeat me!

MrsEG · 24/06/2019 06:09

Just checking in - hope everyone had great weekends! We’re on annual leave all week this week; so of course my body woke me up at 5:45!! We’re not off to the Lakes til tomorrow, but heading to see Toy Story this afternoon!

@LindyMoe Congratulations :)

@FlapJackered So wonderful to hear from you again!! How are you feeling?

@Larrydavid Great news! Although speaking from experience here, no one bats an eyelid if you have sex in a tent at Glasto haha (although I’m going back about 10 years here!!) Enjoy the festival!

@ValidUser good luck with your scan lovely, how are you feeling this week?

Lozzlepop · 24/06/2019 06:30

Morning ladies, looks like an absolutely horrible day here, where’s summer?

@ELW85 haha I feel like I deserve a medal, genuinely feel it was a one off fluke I’m not sure we would be able to keep that up every month. Good luck for you starting ☺️ It was a lovely weekend but I feel when you go on a night out that your weekend goes so fast!

@Larrydavid yup SMEP is done, thank god 😂 I don’t think we’ve had sex as much since the early days 🙈 how are you doing? I just use the IC so can’t offer any advice, I’m sure you can get creative for a bit of glasto BD, wouldn’t that be a story to tell 😂

@ValidUser I hope your scan goes well, you just need to keep positive!

@MrsEG how are you feeling? A trip to the lakes will be lovely, feel like I’m there just now this downpour has turned outside into a swimming pool! I hope You have a nice relaxing week with DH you guys deserve it. Hope the injections are going ok xx

MrsEG · 24/06/2019 06:38

@Lozzlepop Well done with the SMEP! It’s bloody tough going haha! Weather here is shocking today too but is then supposed to be glorious for the rest of the week, fingers crossed!
I am doing okay; still very much taking it all day by day - tablets are fine, injections aren’t too bad. They don’t hurt at all I just get so nervous beforehand (which doesn’t belong DH one bit!). Next appointment with the nurse is next Monday, so I just want to get to that now; but trying very hard to just stay very calm and relaxed about it all. X

PippaPug · 24/06/2019 07:18

Congratulations @LindyMoe!

@Larrydavid - I get married next month so it’s fast coming round now!
With the clear blue OPK - I have only used it may/June - but I found it a bit of a learning curve, I tested Monday which was low (although not quite sure I tested right) and Monday evening it was at the peak. I tend to test at day twice a day. Good luck with tent sex!

@Lozzlepop - thank you for the nice words, feeling better now, just sometimes it seems everyone is having babies! How are you?

@ValidUser - I was thinking about using a soft cup as well....never used one before but been looking into it, last month however I decided to use a tampon - and realised it would absorb anything and everything 🙄🤣 that lasted less then a minute! Soft cup is worth a go though!

Hope you all have a lovely Monday morning Smile

MrsH497 · 24/06/2019 07:33

Morning ladies.
@MrsEG I'm keeping everything crossed for you. Have the best time in the lakes (always wanted to go there) and enjoy toy story!!

@PippaPug our wedding was November (feels like ages ago!!) enjoy every second and don't get nervous. I had honestly the best day of my life.

Looks like a nice day here but apparently rain and storms are on the way. Did I bring an umbrella to work nope!! Gym after work I think started my healthy eating again I've done the comfort eating for too long! Xx

Lozzlepop · 24/06/2019 08:00

@MrsEG tell me about it, I’m back in my winter jacket today! I don’t think DP would have had another day in him if he tried, SMEP must deffo be geared to those people who OV on day 14, day 18 is just too much 😂😂 I’m glad to hear you are doing well and I think that’s a really sensible approach by taking it a day at a time, next Monday will be here before you know it- time off work always goes twice as fast as when you are at work!

@PippaPug that’s good, I’m glad to hear it, I know what you mean, sometimes it just seems horribly unfair but we will get there. I am good thanks, tired from the weekend and now into the dreaded TWW so trying to keep myself busy! DPs Birthday in 2 weeks so hoping I can give him a nice surprise 🤞🏻

@MrsH497 think it’s horrible everywhere today 😕 we have a weather warning in place but it seems ok so far! That’s good, it’s nice to allow yourself a few weeks off if needed but I know I feel better for being back at the gym!

ELW85 · 24/06/2019 09:45

@Lozzlepop - it’s awful here too, feels like October!
I hear ya on the weekend flying over when you have a night out, but it was definitely worth it :)
I don’t think we’ll need to start the SMEP until later in the week but DH is all over it! Last night he was asking when it begins (probably out of fear, haha!)

@PippaPug - that has come round fast! We got married in March and it feels like forever ago; best day of my life though and we didn’t ever want it to end.
I also feel like everyone else is getting pregnant apart from me, and it’s really starting to bother me. I have good days and bad though. I’m sure we’re all the same.

@ValidUser - good luck for the scan :)

@MrsEG - great to hear the shots aren’t too bad! I bet you can’t wait for the lakes! T-59 days til our next escape (seems like a lifetime away).

Have a wonderful Monday everyone!

FlapJackered · 24/06/2019 12:22

@MrsEG I am good thanks lovely! Feeling much better having seen the fertility expert. Currently day 16 and just had peak smiley so we Dtd but (tmi) it was SO messy! I don't know what happened but it seemed to all end up on the sheets instead 😂🙈
How are you? Have you had any more appointments with your consultant and any more answers?
Have an amazing time at the Lakes! You should get some cracking weather too!

@Lozzlepop are you doing smep? It is a long slog if you ovulate late isn't it! I started on day 14 instead.

@Larrydavid thanks lovely, it's good to know but hard to understand why it hasn't happened in 15months 🤷🏼‍♀️ How are you?

Congratulations @LindyMoe 🎉🎉

@Fivebyfive2 thanks Hun, it does feel like the responsibility is not all on me anymore which is nice. How are you? Xx

LindyMoe · 24/06/2019 12:26

@FlapJackered loling at your details! Grin. I don't think we've ever dtd so much in our lives, it was literally every other day for 3 weeks. OH was spent... I was ok Smile

MrsEG · 24/06/2019 12:32

@MrsH497 Thank you lovely :)

@Lozzlepop I’ll keep my fingers crossed it is all worth it; just the TWW to go now!

@ELW85 Thanks lovely, ooh where are you going away?

@FlapJackered I forgot you had had a break from the threads - I am only bloody pg again 🤞🏻 Complete surprise and accidental, only DTD on my birthday and didn’t at all after that as consultant had told us not to. Only realised I was as I had my Ava back on to collect some data ready for when we did try again, and temps kept rising. I called my consultant as soon as I got a BFP; don’t even really know my dates but the guess is I am perhaps 5+2 today. I have experienced every emotion!! Consultant was amazing when I called and she had a lot of my results back already - I have a thyroid and blood issue, but she prescribed a steroid, another pill and a self-injection there and then and I’ve been taking them since last Thursday. Just taking it day by day; see my consultant again on Monday. Haven’t called the Gp, downloaded any apps, nothing. Just trying to relax and just see what happens xx
How are you feeling? It’s so good having an expert on your team isn’t it - I don’t know what on earth ive had done without my consultant this past week, especially now I know there is an issue.
Sorry to hear about the mess haha! If it’s any help, the day we conceived this month I was up and out of bed seconds after DH was done so most of it ended up in the loo!! As far as I know the good swimmers get right up there within seconds so I wouldn’t worry about the mess :)

PippaPug · 24/06/2019 13:58

@MrsH497 - I’m really excited - but yes as you can imagine so nervous! Glad it was the best day of your life! How’s the healthy eating going? I went for a walk and didn’t take a umbrella and of course it poured down! Luckily it was a quick outburst!

@Lozzlepop - I like you really nickname! When can you test/when is your period due? I’m also in the TWW - period is due around 3rd of July, fingers crossed for us both!

@ELW85 - Your wedding was not that long ago, congratulations! I feel the same - it’s so hard sometimes and especially with all the SM we have at our fingertips it seems everyone is getting pregnant, I hope today is a good day for you 😊

@MrsEG How are you?

XjustagirlX · 24/06/2019 13:58

Hi ladies

A question on ovulation tests.
I am using the cheap strips twice a day. But I have also bought some clear blue flashing and static tests.
I don’t want to ‘waste’ these expensive ones by doing them at the wrong time.
When should I start doing the clear blue tests and should I do 2 a day or just 1?
I’m currently on cd 10 of a 32 day cycle. I’m not sure when I ovulate (I thought it was on cd 22 but not definite).

Thanks

MrsH497 · 24/06/2019 14:52

@PippaPug well had yoghurt and fruit for breakfast then a brown roll with egg spinach and tomato. So far 500ml of water and 2 cups of green tea!
