Feeling unwell during ovulation?

Hello just some general chat and peace of mind needed. Am I alone....

I have been ttc for 1 year. Came of the pill last May. Have had quite long and irregular periods since but the last few months has been closer to normal (20-32 days).

I’ve noticed in the past that I usually pick up something or other around the time I should be ovulating and/or around the time of af.
This month I have had more CM than ever, blazing opks for the last 3 days but also terrible backaches and horrendous nausea and dizziness. I was up at 2am unbelievably hot and hugging the toilet although I wasn’t sick (had to have the day off work today it was so bad) which is very very slowly starting to pass.
I’m just wondering if I should be concerned? Does this happen to anyone else?

I usually feel really bloated, stomach pains, pains after having a wee/standing up sitting down etc, pain all the time haha. Sometimes I get a little nausea too. Nothing to the extreme that you experience though.

So this is going to sound weird but I have endometriosis and ME and my hormones are a mess after years of treatments. I’ve discovered now that I have unregulated cycles that my thyroid only works well during ovulation, start and end of my cycle I have shocking hypothyroidism symptoms but tests not sufficient for diagnosis. Comparative blood tests show that my thyroid levels improve around ovulation.

From when my period ends to the day after ovulation I have heart palpitations, fluctuating heart rate and blood pressure, dizziness, feel hot all the time etc then after ovulation I’m hit with horrendous fatigue, joint and muscle pain, constipation, always cold etc

I haven’t been able to find any research into this but I suspect there’s an awful lot more than we think linked to our cycle.

Immune system is lower at time of ovulation. This is to aid fertilisation and implantation, basically to stop your immune system attaching sperm or even a fertilised egg thinking it's a foreign body, or something like that. That's why you may get ill around ovulation like colds and things

Oh really? Thank you for your comments.

That is what I am usually like @Mrschicken89 but this time the nausea has been out of control.

Hi @SinkGirl I can’t find a lot of info on it either which is strange. Makes me feel I am the only one really. I have heart palpitations too but haven’t looked to closely at what time in my cycle. My HR is also all over the place and rises from around 67 to 70/74 around ovulation and then again just before af.

I can literally sit here and watch my heartrate on my phone go from 55 to 115 and back down again just while sitting on the sofa (I have a watch thingie). It’s very odd!

It is isn’t it. All this being in tune with your body is bloody headwork!
