How often to DTD?

Hi all,
Have been TTC since January with no luck.
I think this is down to lack of/ DTD at the wrong times.
DH doesn’t have the highest of sex drives, bless him.
What would you lovely MN users recommend? Every other day throughout my cycle? Open to suggestions!
Me and DH are both taking Pregnacare conception vitamins. I am attempting to track ovulation with OPKs and will start time temping tomorrow (not very good at remembering to do that 😂) and I’m trying to have a good diet with lots of fruit and veg. I have drank more than usual recently but plan to abstain from today.
Currently on CD 8 and my last cycle was 34 days (much better than the 52 days on the previous 2 cycles whoop whoop!).
If you are still reading (sorry for my rambligs of a crazy person)... And you any DTD suggestions/general TTC suggestions I would be very very thankful!
I am feeling positive after a crappy couple weeks of tricking myself into seeing lines (I have probably pissed on about £30 this month 😂) and my best friend telling me that she is having a little girl (it’s very easy to hide jealousy crying over WhatsApp lol). I’m ready for a new cycle and I’m all ears for any suggestions!
Baby dust to all ❤️

DTD everyday in fertile week. Plus a couple of days either side.

F10029 · 20/06/2019 08:31

Well you only need to DTD once. It took us 11 months to conceive, in the month we DTD every day for about 2 weeks around fertile period. I don't know if it was that that worked, the fact I was less stressed about work stuff that month, or it was just our time to get lucky. I found the rollercoaster of emotions around TTC really difficult and I'm not sure the different things I tried each month really helped. I know it must feel like a super long time since January, but it's actually fairly normal for it to take a while, as long as you DTD each month at least once in your fertile period your in with a chance, although I totally feel for you, it is really difficult to stay positive and patient through lots of happy baby announcements!

Fertility doctor told us that every other day is best.

Read the sperm meets egg plan - that recommends every other day until positive ovulation test and then sex that day and the next

Statistics show the 2 days BEFORE ovulation are most successful

MovinOnUp · 20/06/2019 09:35

I was advised every other day when I was struggling to conceive.

We tried for 5 years!!! Then got told about sperm meets egg plan. First time we tried it- pregnant! Now 17 weeks! Xxxx

After he ejaculates in you, make sure you orgasm- so many fail to do that, and apparently it helps a lot.

LoveYourHome9 · 21/06/2019 02:09

What?

RudyRoo · 21/06/2019 07:53

Everyday in fertile week worked for me! Good luck.

RudyRoo · 21/06/2019 07:54

Also didn't orgasm, literally 5 min quickies before work so no time for that!

BaweB · 21/06/2019 08:36

I spoke to a fertility expert and she said every other day for 5 days before your earliest possible ovulation until 5 days after your latest ovulation date. Basically, every other day is better than every day! Worked for us!

FutureMrsD · 21/06/2019 14:21

Thank you everyone! Every other day it is!
Having a bit of trouble as to what CD I am on as my periods have been a bit irregular since coming off the pill in January.
Last cycle I believe I ovulated on CD 24 as it was just after I had my only positive OPK. However I started spotting on CD 32 to which the bleeding was heavy on CD 35 (well CD one of the new cycle technically).
Shall I class the start of my period and CD 1 when the spotting started or when the heavy flow started? (I hope this makes sense haha)
