Too Early To Take A Test?

Hi,,

I stopped taking the mini pill on 1 June and I’m convinced I may already be pregnant. How long should I wait until I do a test? Is it just too early for it to work?

I'd you took the pill as you should til the end of the pack then I'm pretty sure you won't be pregnant yet. Even if you ovulated straight away after (alot of people get a delay while their body's readjust - I did as well) you would have only ovulated in the last few days and would not have had implantation yet and it would not show up on a pg test.

When I stopped the pill I was convinced I was pregnant, I felt odd, sick and my nipples (sorry Tmi) were SO sore! Turned out it was just my real hormones kicking back in and it lasted a few weeks. I've also noticed that I now feel ovulation, I ovulated 4 days ago and for the last 2 days have felt really sick and last night had cramps, way too early to be anything other than hormones - so you could just be feeling the effects of ovulation?

What makes you think you are pregnant? We're you tracking anything like ovulation?

I’ve had a lot of symptoms that I knew could just be my hormones readjusting usual...sore boobs, headaches, cramps. But last few days I’ve started with heartburn. I never suffer with this usually and with both my DD and DS I had this a good few weeks before I had a BFP.

So yesterday afternoon I had some spotting, hardly anything...sorry for tmi but I only noticed after I’d wiped when going to the loo. It happened a few times yesterday and again this morning but now nothing.
I’ve looked on google and i can’t decide if it’s implantation bleeding.

There’s so much conflicting info,, I think I’m gonna wait till after weekend and do a test x

Going to wait till after the weekend,, I’ve got one in the house though so dunno if I’ll end up doing one before 🙈

The only way you're going to know for certain is by taking a test however if you only stopped the pill less than 3 weeks ago it is very unlikely you're pregnant yet.

Do you get your normal breakthrough bleeding?
Did you check for ovulation?

Your body will be trying to adjust to it's new normal without the pill hormones and believe me pregnancy symptoms can be mistaken with impending period symptoms.

I did a test Friday morning and it was negative.

Still feeling so many pregnancy symptoms though and heartburn is really bad today so I’ve no clue what’s going on.

It’s so confusing, I need to stop checking symptoms on google lol x

Well I tested last Friday and got a bfn...I convinced myself I was just imagining symptoms....been having an awful taste in my mouth all week though and (tmi) I’ve had a mild case of thrush which I’ve never had in my life. Just been to local shop for a cheapy and got this!! BFP! X

We've been pretty much the same, came off the pill end of May/beginning of June and got BFP on Monday :) x

I’ve been trying to figure out just how far along I am,, but all I’ve got to go on is what I’m pretty sure would have been implantation bleed on 19th June,, will I have an early scan to find out or will I just have to wait for 12 week scan to find out for sure?x

19th June sounds too early for implantation if you only just got a positive test, some spot around ovulation as the egg is released which sounds about right timing wise?
Sounds like it was from your first cycle so I'd guess best to date from when you stopped the pill. You could try a clear blue digital (but add 2 weeks to what it tells you as that's from conception not how drs measure it which is from your last missed period. Not 100% accurate but it's he best you can do at the moment as it would be too early for a scan. Not sure whether the nhs would offer a dating scan earlier but you could ask or pay for a private one? I'd say you could be a week or 2 max off if you went off when you stopped the pill.

1st June stopped the pill (class as last period start date)
19th June bleed (could be ovulation?)
6th July bfp! (Could be 17dpo?)

Yeah,, I think I’ll get one of those digital tests just to get a better idea. I never considered the bleed could of been caused by ovulation to be honest.
I’ve got all my dates for a rough idea at least anyway x

I came off the pill almost 2 weeks ago but I am 38 so not holding out much hope for a quick BFP!

Similar to me 3 years ago this weekend I took a test after first cycle of TTC and got my BFP. Now I have a DD 2yrs old (32 when conceived)

Interesting re-heartburn.. the last two days I’ve had awful heartburn & I never have heartburn (bar previous pregnancy).. my other half is convinced that was something I complained about before I tested for no.1, I don’t remember personally! I’m not 100% sure when I ovulated this month but predicting I’m about 10DPO.. plan to test Wednesday if no period shows!
