Evap Line or Positive?

Hi! I've been reading these boards forever but this is my first post ever.

My cycle is usually 28 days. Currently on day 31 and no period yet. This morning, I got what appears to be a faint line on an internet cheapie. I have tested with these for years and have never seen a faint line like this. How do I know if it's an evap line? I bought a cheap test at the store later in the morning, but that was negative.

I wish I could upload the photo of the cheapie stick. I did an invert on the colors, and I do see it. VERY FAINT though. Does anyone know if photos can be shared on here?

I'm hoping I can find someone who is around the same cycle as me so please message me if you are!

@Peachie77 have your periods always been 28 days with no reason why this one is delayed? (Coming off contraception/stress?)

I think if you have only just signed up you have to wait 1 or 2 days before it allows you to post pictures. If you're not a new member you will see a paperclip below the text box you type in.

Did it come up within the time frame (I have had shadows on them before) and did it have colour like the pink in it?

If you are 3 days last I'd have bought another brand would have picked up a positive but it's also possible for it to not be picked up tilnlager if implantation was later.

Do you know when you ovulated? Or taking it from an app/guess? Usually af is due 14 days after so you could have ovulated late? (This could be why hard to get a positive or why af is late?)

Hi @Abi58! Thanks for replying. I'm so nerdy excited to actually be messaging on one of these boards. Especially because I can't share this with anyone else.

I likely ovulated 14 days ago (6/5, CD 18). Today is CD 32/14 DPO.

My period has only been this late 4 times in the last 3 years. We have been aggressively trying; in fact, this was our first month trying SMEP.

I just tested again (w/ 2 cheap sticks) and it's the exact same faint pink line on both. Also tried another $$ early response brand as well, but it was negative.

Have you seen this before? I will direct msg you the picture.

Maybe try the frer in the morning? With fmu. You could have ovulated slightly later than you thought and implantation can be 7-12dpo ish so could have been late ov and late implantation so not as much in your system. I've read those tests are not as sensitive so I'd definitely try with a more sensitive one tomorrow morning (or if you can wait a really good hold on not much drink so it's really concentrated)

Thanks!! Those are very good points, I will pick up a more sensitive test today and try it to make it concentrated. At this point, I am at least fairly certain it isn't an evap line!

So, 16 DPO.... period is 6 days late...I was seeing faint lines but now I am now seeing nothing...bummed. I tried a dollar store test and a FRER also.
