HyCosy - Experience

Hi all,

Just wanted to share my HyCosy experience here. I was scared and was nervous for this test but it is not painful as i expected or imagined. It is like the usual period cramp that too at the end for about 7-8 seconds.

My test was at 9 this morning. So i got up around 6.30 AM, had my breakfast and took 2 200mg Nurofen around 8.20 AM.

I went to the fertility center and the doctors and nurse are very friendly. They explained the procedure. As swab test (to test and see if i have any infection) was not done for me i was asked to take antibiotics after the HYCosy is done.

First they did the normal ultrasound scan and then inserted the smear test tool. When the smear test tool was inserted i felt a sharp pain for couple of seconds and then they inserted the water and dye (not painful at all). Once my tubes are filled and doctors are taking the needed pictures, i started feeling a sharp pain (for a second), then back to normal. My tubes are clear and while removing the tubes i felt some pain (more of a period cramp pain) which lasts for 5-6 seconds.

Doctor advised me not to try for baby this month. So all fine at the end. I went to pharmacy to collect the antibiotics, came home via public transport. So ladies, nothing to worry at all. Smile
