Hiya

So I am only on cd7 of cycle #10 TTC.

I got a positive (I think - attached) OPK this evening followed by a negative one about an hour later. Has anyone else had this / does anyone know does this mean I've had my LH surge?

Any advice appreciated! Thanks xx

That does look positive but cd 7 seems early? Is that when you normally ovulate? It is possible that your body will try to ovulate and you'll have a surge but not actually ovulate. Are you tracking anything else that can help to confirm it? 🤞🏻 for you.
And yes a surge can last only hours or over a day everyone is different. My last cycle I had 1 nearly positive then faded again and this month I had over 24 hours of positives.

That looks positive to me. Any other signs of ovulation?

You have taken another test only an hour later, which makes me wonder if it was with very dilute wee - had you had lots to drink between the two? If so, your urine may have been too dilute.

I've also been told that sometimes you have minor, brief LH surges early in your cycle that aren't long enough to trigger ovulation. This seems to be my experience of OPKs, the last two cycles I had early and faint positives that disappeared quickly, and then another persistent positive a week later. Dates for AF seem to back up the second one being when ovulation actually occured.

Assuming you are TTC, why not DTD just in case and keep testing to see what happens?

Hi @Abi58 and @crazychemist

Thanks so much for your advice.

@Abi58 my periods are somewhat irregular between 28-35 days, but last two months my luteal phase has been exactly 14 days (despite one cycle being 35 days and the other 28!!)

I am tracking BBT and CM so I will carry on with that and hopefully see another positive ovulation in a few days :)

@crazychemist no other signs of ovulation, so hoping that it is just one of those things, thanks for sharing your experience with similar results. Will carry on DTD as normal and hopefully everything will line up :)

Thanks ladies xxx

You can surge more than once. That doesn't look quite positive to me. I'd say it's unlikely as day 7 is super early
