So I've privately booked an early scan, I'm nearly 8 weeks I just want to make sure everything is okay as it doesn't seem real yet!!
We will also find out if there's one or two as I'm an identical twin and 3 sets in the family !!
I'm just so nervous !
Will there even be much to see at 8 weeks !!?
Has anyone had a scan this early ??

Sorry I can't help or have any answers for you. I'd imagine if they do a scan they would be able to see something though. Google 8 week scan? Good luck I'm sure everything is fine 😁

I had a scan at 8 weeks too (36+5 now) and we saw the heartbeat and yolk sac do yes you should see how many there are. Top tip is to try not be absolutely busting for a wee, it kinda distracted me from the scan I was so desperate!

Good luck and enjoy!

mumof1hants · 16/06/2019 08:34

I had a scan at 8 weeks... was like a like a little bean with a heartbeat ☺️ good luck!

LouH1981 · 16/06/2019 22:14

Yes, I had a scan at 8 weeks (am currently 16 weeks) and saw little heartbeat, fetal pole etc. It’s nice to see a heartbeat and they can also do some measurements which can be reassuring. Fingers crossed for you xx

Abi58 · 17/06/2019 12:53

@SamRwl when is your scan?

SamRwl · 17/06/2019 13:31

@Abi58 I had it yesterday ..

), by my dates I’m nearly 8 weeks, no reason other than being really impatient to see if everything's ok, no bleeding or anything. There was a pregnancy sack visible and a yolk, but no fetal pole visible, and too early to detect a heartbeat
She told me I was looking more like just before 6 weeks!!
I didn’t track ovulation but is it really possible to be 2 weeks out!!!
Now I’m worried sick, is baby not developing properly, how can I be 2 weeks out !?

So nervous !! Early scan !

@SamRwl oh wow that's amazing! Try not to worry about anything else, if you are go to your dr with your results and they can do an hcg blood test to check levels are rising correctly. Is it 8 weeks since your last period? How long ago did you ovulate? (Are you 100% sure you ovd when you think?)

SamRwl · 17/06/2019 13:56

@Abi58 yeah 8 weeks since last period, I've no idea when I ovulated to be honest I have never checked, I was a week late getting my BFP so I kind of expected maybe a week out but not 2, I did a digital a week apart to check hcg (I know it's not the best thing to do)
And I did get a higher reading on each so that assured me at the time but all I wanted was that reassurance of a heartbeat I'm driving myself crazy thinking something is wrong xx

So nervous !! Early scan !

@SamRwl I'm sure everything is fine but maybe go see your dr and ask for the blood test to check levels are rising at least that will stop you worrying and let you enjoy the experience :)
You can get a bfp 6 days before your missed period if your levels increase enough and you use a sensitive test so that with a week later as well could have ovulated 2 weeks later which still makes you 8 weeks but measuring 6 because of late ov.

I'd definitely say go drs and put your mind at rest just so you can relax and enjoy it :) but I'm sure everything is fine

SamRwl · 17/06/2019 14:03

@Abi58 thank you so much ❤️ I've got my booking appointment with the midwife next Monday so I'm going to explain everything to her, see what she thinks xx

Abi58 · 17/06/2019 14:06

@SamRwl ❤️ try not to worry. If you do worry still or can't stop thinking about it it's worth the call to your drs they might even do a form for you to get blood test without app. Worth it if it allows you to relax. 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻 for you although I'm sure you don't need it :) let us know how it goes with the midwife.

satsumasaturday · 17/06/2019 14:45

How long are you cycles 😊@SamRwl?

My cycles are longish and I had an early MC last month- when I got my bfp I was 6 weeks pregnant based on last period - but I knew I hadn't ovulated until cd 26 therefore it was only about 4 weeks (they base it on average cycle 28 days, ovulation day 14). So I was 12 days behind. If I'd have had a scan therefore at 8 weeks according to the doc, I'd actually be more like 6 and probably worried like you.

Sorry that probably doesn't make sense. what I'm trying to say is don't worry- if you're not 100% sure when you ovulated then the dates could easily be out by a couple of weeks x

SamRwl · 17/06/2019 15:06

@satsumasaturday usually 28 days like clockwork, we did sit down last night and try to figure out all the dates and I guess it is possible. I was just waiting everyday that went by to get to 12 weeks in the hope I don't have to worry so much, and 2 weeks just seems like a lifetime! The private scan lady said to come back in 2 weeks and book another scan and she will be able to see more so think that's what we will do, the waiting game is just awful though! I just keep thinking I've had no reasons to think there is anything wrong, no bleeding no pain so I need to just suck it up and wait, my partner thinks I'm crazy and worrying for nothing but I'm just a mess, maybe my hormones but I'm even having dreams every night that something bad happens - jeez I sound crazy x

SamRwl · 19/06/2019 11:40

@Abi58 thank you so much I will do, going to a different place and the appointment is double the time so I'm hoping we get to hear the little heartbeat xx
