Chemical pregnancy what to expect

Yesterday I went to a private clinic for a reassurance scan to find I'd had a chemical pregnancy. I went to my local hospital to rule out ectopic pregnancy and they confirmed chemical pregnancy/early miscarriage. Since leaving the hospital I've got so many questions. When will I start bleeding? No idea when my period is due as they're irregular anyway and my last one was 7 weeks ago. Can we start ttc right now or do I need to wait? I've tried calling the hospital but have been unable to get a response. Just wondering if anyone on here can help me? Xxx

I had a CP in March and again in May so I know how you might be feeing. You need to wait for a bleed before trying again. Best of luck.

Could they see anything at all in the scan? At 7 weeks you would usually be offered some kind of medical management to get everything started.

Just that the womb lining had thickened. Even though it's been 7 weeks since my period I definitely wasn't 7 weeks pregnant. I just have irregular periods anyway so I don't think I can help? It's just upsetting to me as I just want it over and done with.

Sorry to hear that you're going through this.
My experience was: bfp on Saturday, tests stayed same darkness for couple of days then got gradually lighter. I started bleeding the following Friday. Bleed started brown then quickly became red like normal af. Overall bled for 6 days - v similar to af except mine was overall a lighter and less crampy.
As pp said wait for a bleed then can start ttc straight away. I ovulated 1-2 days later than usual. I hope things work out for you

That would make you 9 weeks pregnant, that’s not a chemical pregnancy. They happen within a week after period was due.

MyDcAreMarvel · 09/06/2019 18:53

I mean 9 weeks had things gone well. Did they not explain anything to you?

Rosiecat90 · 09/06/2019 19:12

Well I don't have a normal cycle so I could've conceived at any point really. Only got a positive test last week and now saying negative, nothing showing on scan.

I've previously had a miscarriage at 9 weeks but this is definitely chemical pregnancy as there was nothing visible on the scan this time and I haven't been offered any medical management. I just want to know when the bleeding will start so I can start to move on. I think I'll see my GP tomorrow

When I had a chemical I got a positive three days before my period was due and started bleeding four days after my period was due.
It lasted about 8 days.
You can start to ttc again as soon as the bleeding has completely stopped . You are more fertile after a chemical and no ned to wait for a normal period.
Sorry you are going through this.
