How long did people wait after a d&c before trying again? Booked in for d& c next week after finding I had MMC at my 12 week scan.

I waited until AF came back and not before; it can mess with your cycle a little bit (AF took 5 weeks to return for me) plus you need to give yourself time to grieve over what has happened. I actually didn’t try the following month either as I didn’t quite feel ready yet. The hospital staff on the day can answer any questions about it too. One thing you do need to do is wait until you have had a negative pregnancy test post-D&C to ensure all the hormone has left your system (for me this took 2.5 weeks).

Sorry to hear about your mmc @Disco3000. It took me 3 weeks after my erpc to get a negative test and I ovulated 4 weeks after the surgery. Currently in 2ww.

Sorry for your loss disco. D&C at the end of april..We tried when I ovulated 3 weeks later..currently 5 weeks pregnant now...hoping it sticks...mind yourself...it's just shit!

I was told to wait until my first proper period. I did and DC is now 36 years old :)

Hi, sorry to hear what has happened. I posted more or less the same question as you earlier on today. I was told that you can start TTC again as soon as your bleeding stops by the hospital. I had my 12 week scan on 24th May and found out I'd had MMC (8+4), I had D&C the next morning. I'm still bleeding a bit but had negative pregnacy test after 10 days, midwife said it should read as negative by 14 days after D&C. I'm just waiting on the bleeding to stop and will be back to TTC. Like you said it was a total shock and DH and I are totally heartbroken, sending love to you. Xx
