Heightened 'symptoms' following miscarriage - anyone else?

I had a miscarriage in March. Periods seem more settled than they've ever been... but the accompanying symptoms are bothering me.

The breast tenderness, cramping, emotions etc. seem about ten times more ramped up than they used to be.

I feel sick around ovulation time, sick before period. It's really getting me down as I'm always thinking "maybe I'm pregnant".

Anyone else found this?

Yes, me! Particularly bread tenderness, nausea and pinchy-pully feelings in my uterus on the run up to me period.

For me I think it's just that I'm so much more aware of my body than pre-mc (and also more desperate to be pregnant!)

sophied1983 · 05/06/2019 11:16

Maybe you're right - more tuned into it.

It's doing my head in.

Yes, I had a mmc in April and have found my ovulation symptoms are more exaggerated with lots of ewcm. My periods have also been more painful too. It is really shit.

Sorry for everyone's losses Flowers

Helensss · 05/06/2019 15:13

Me too!! I miscarried in March and Just ovulated with so much more egg whit cm (seemed to go on for days) and more painful nipples, secretly hoping I’m more fertile or something? Just entered the 2ww now..

Michellebops · 05/06/2019 15:57

I miscarried in October and the symptoms I get every month is dreadful.

I don't need to opk as I know exactly when I'm ovulating due to pains and nausea. Then the 2ww is full of backache, nausea, sore boobs, headaches.

It's rubbish that I only feel "good" for the first 2 weeks of my cycle

Helensss · 05/06/2019 16:08

@michellebops are you trying to conceive again? So weird isn’t it, I wonder why it happens x

Mistymeow · 05/06/2019 16:33

Yes I’m the same. I think hormones are the cause as they settle down. After my last mmc I developed a lump in my breast, it was very scary but an ultrasound confirmed a cyst- probably caused by hormonal changes. I just ignore all the 2ww symptoms because it’s so disappointing. Miscarriage can also change your cycle completely for reasons unknown. I guess it’s a big event for our bodies and we adjust to a new norm

sophied1983 · 05/06/2019 16:52

My half-sis said it could be too much estrogen causing the symptoms and suggested a remedy, but don't want to start messing with things if trying to get pregnant?!

I'm so sorry you've all been through it too. Flipping sucks doesn't it!

@sophie1983 yeah I’m not going to mess with myself either. Took me 16 months after pill for my cycle to kick back in properly, fell pregnant after 2 months and then miscarried (mean) so now that cycle has come back I’m not going to mess with it and hope... again! X

Michellebops · 05/06/2019 17:32

@Helensss yes, been ttc since new year with no luck at all.

I'm due to go for another laparoscopy this month which 🤞 may help

sophied1983 · 05/06/2019 18:26

Like an idiot I thought I was preggers - had cramps that have eased off and no sign of period yet so thought might be related to implantation, but BFN. Annoyed with myself for getting my hopes up.

Been so tearful this week. I hate it.

VenusStarr · 05/06/2019 18:57

I've got a hsg tomorrow @Michellebops 🤞I've been ignoring my strong symptoms of ovulation as we're on a sex ban, it's been nice not having to time and track things.

@Helensss how are you? We spoke a while ago on the miscarriage board.

Sorry about the bfn @sophied1983 it's really shit. When's af due?

sophied1983 · 05/06/2019 19:00

It was meant to be yesterday. But to be fair - I used to have really long cycles, so the last couple have been a bit misleading (as 31/32 days). Still - odd to have cramps that have now gone and no bleeding yet, but my body constantly amazes/ frustrates me.

VenusStarr · 05/06/2019 19:04

Fingers crossed for you @sophied1983 it is so frustrating. Hope you get good news x

Helensss · 05/06/2019 21:24

@michellebops rubbish isn’t it, good luck to you!

@VenusStarr oh yes so we did, I’m ok thank you, I had my first af 6 weeks after and have since ovulated at the weekend so can’t help that horrible two week hope! How are you doing?

@sophie1983 I feel for you, horrible having that disappointment and hopes up! If you miscarried in March it’s not been too long so hopefully will conceive again soon,
I’m in the same boat 😘

Michellebops · 06/06/2019 13:29

@VenusStarr good luck. I don't know if I maybe need that. I know I have a kink in my left tube.

Michellebops · 06/06/2019 13:30

@Helensss

Thank you. Good luck in your 2ww ❤️

sophied1983 · 07/06/2019 07:08

I'm so confused... period pains all week, tearful, nausea, spotty, boob pain... but BFN and no period. What's going on???

OP posts:
Helensss · 07/06/2019 08:22

Do you know when you ovulated? @sophie1983

sophied1983 · 07/06/2019 08:42

Had strong line on 23/24 on cheapy OPK.

OP posts:
Helensss · 07/06/2019 09:07

So it’s been 14 days, maybe it’s just a bit late? Mine ranges from 12-16 days post ov which is frustrating.
If it doesn’t come in a few days test again though!
x

I think that when you've been pregnant and then continue to TTC you do become very heightened to anything that may be a symptom. I spent years monitoring 'symptoms ' I fell pregnant 6 times and every single time the symptoms varied. We stopped TTC about 6 months ago and I have noticed that the early pregnancy symptoms I was always looking for I do still get every month... but before TTC I wouldn't have really noticed them. Now I know that there is no way I could be pregnant but am still getting those symptoms, I'm a bit 🙄 at myself for spending so many years over analysing and stressing at every twinge/smell/wave of nausea etc.

Helensss · 08/06/2019 09:25

No sign of it? @sophie1983
