Tips on getting pregnant?

TTC for 3 months now. Any tips? I'm nearly 40, so that's not helping, AMH is 8,21 pmol/L and 1,15ng/ml, which I don't think is great. Periods are lighter than they used to be, noticeably over last 5 yrs. I'm taking folic acid. I was wondering about other supplements?

Unfortunately patience - it's very common to take up to a year to get pregnant.

Are you using a tracking app? I used glow. Made sure we dtd at all the right times. Plus a few extra days either side of fertile week to make sure we didn't miss an early or late ovulation.

We took the Tesco conception pills. His and hers.

I know it's hard. But try and relax. 3 months isn't a long time to be trying.

Is this your first? If so, you can book a fertility appointment with your doc at the 6 month mark (you don't have to wait the usual 12 months if you're over 35).

In terms of right now, I found the 'Taking Charge of your Fertility' book to be an invaluable resource and have consequently started temping + using OPKs. Now I can be much more confident we're doing it at the right time...whereas before it was much more guesswork.

You might also want to take a more comprehensive prenatal vitamin - I use pregnacare conception, which I know a lot of ladies use on here. You'll want to get your partner to take the male version too.

Given the risk of miscarriage increases with age, you might also want to consider cutting down on caffeine as that also increases your risk of miscarriage. I'm still on half a cup...but if no luck this month, I'm going to quit next cycle.

And then all the usual stuff like making sure you're a health weight, not smoking, getting a varied diet etc. All the best!

Hips up in the air after ejaculation as if you're bicycling in the air. You're probably already doing that though. Good luck Op!

Thanks for all the replies. I'll look into pregnancare. Glow sounds good, I have a different one, but I'll see if that's any better. Weight is ok, I eat pretty healthily and don't smoke. It's not my 1st, but 1st with this partner. I'm a lot older now, I didn't have to try before. My gp did some blood tests and said she'd refer me at 6 months.
