How early can pregnancy be detected on a scan

Hello.

Does anyone know how early a pregnancy can be detected on an internal scan? I had a miscarriage 4 weeks ago tomorrow and I ovulated Approx 13 days ago. We weren't actively TTC this month so I didn't track ovulation exactly and we didn't time sex but they did coincide roughly.

I had a scan yesterday (not to see if I was pregnant but to check my lining as have previously been treated for Ashermans syndrome) and he didn't flag anything. I just wondered whether it's too soon to see it or not.

not sure whether to do a test or wait for my period. Given the miscarriage, my head space is a little fragile so don't want to get my hopes up and do a test for no reason!

Anyone have any thoughts?

I'm so sorry for your loss. As far as I'm aware a sonographer would be able to see a thickening of the womb lining from 4 weeks, a yolk sac from 5 weeks and heart beat from 6 weeks. But your body is probably still all over the place after your miscarriage, and this may make your cycle very long, and your period a few weeks late this month whilst it recovers and gets back to normal. Thank you @LunaDeet , those are exactly my thoughts. I think I'll wait it out a few more weeks and see if my period comes.
