@purplefig I know!! It’s mostly because I have a week off work next week too though heading up to the Lakes, so I need to get two weeks work done in one... glad to hear all is going great with you!

@Tashdreams @Lozzlepop I haven’t noticed a huge difference other than my skin seems a little better! I was just concerned at having taken folic acid for a full year and did some reading and folate seems to be the ‘safer’ option as it is the naturally occurring form of the vitamin - I’ll see if I can find the articles I read but I figured I’d give it a go for a while.

cupcakesandglitter · 17/06/2019 11:29

Oh my god @MrsEG massive congratulations!!! Xxx

MrsEG · 17/06/2019 11:33

@Tashdreams @Lozzlepop Here’s a little summary: www.healthline.com/nutrition/folic-acid-vs-folate#section6

Of course I’m no health professional so please do your own reading etc but I’d been taking folic acid for so long I thought a switch to the ‘healthy’ alternative couldn’t hurt. Xx

LindyMoe · 17/06/2019 11:34

@cupcakesandglitter how are you? Sorry I'm one of those that reads more than posts, and haven't 'seen' you in a while.
All ok?

MrsEG · 17/06/2019 11:40

@cupcakesandglitter @starkid Thank you lovely ladies, trying to just be calm. How are you both getting on?xx

Kiza · 17/06/2019 11:40

@MrsEG thanks for the link about the folate. I'm wondering as my pregnecare vits turn my pee a bright yellow I'm wondering if I have excess unmetabolised folic acid in my system?

Lozzlepop · 17/06/2019 11:47

@purplefig haha I would deffo be doing the same! Yeah I am testing daily, I have always managed to catch it before so should be ok!

@starkid unfortunately its not me that has giant boobs 😂

@MrsEG thanks for sharing, thats really interesting, I have just ordered some so will see how I get on 😊thanks for the referral code too! Any word from the consultant yet?

cupcakesandglitter · 17/06/2019 11:52

Hey @LindyMoe I'm okay thankyou, AF hit me very very horribly (and painfully) 2 weeks late and then I found out my cousin is expecting which hit me hard too. And then I went to a party and someone bought their baby. So it's been tough 😂 I've just stayed off this to have little time to just think about what I want to do going forward etc, I'm okay though I think 😂 how are you? X

@MrsEG I'm okay thankyou - completely understandable but thankfully you've got that extra support and hopefully you're monitored super well and this is your sticky bean xx

starkid · 17/06/2019 11:52

@Lozzlepop - oh man, sorry 😂 not sure why I try catching up after a few days away, can never get it quite right. Should stick to lurking 😂

LindyMoe · 17/06/2019 12:07

@cupcakesandglitter completely understand, I have similar breaks. How are you managing to stay positive?
I'm currently in my 2 week wait but already have pms symptoms so trying not to breakdown. I feel so broken and just less than.

Been listening to a few podcasts and trying to let go of this because its not in my control, but the capricorn side of me won't let. Any tips you have I'm all ears, would love to put this baby anxiety in a box so I can focus elsewhere Sad

purplefig · 17/06/2019 12:08

@starkid nooo don't be silly, it's lovely to hear from you. How're you getting on?

@Lozzlepop ahh that's good then, is it usually around the same sort of day in your cycle?

@MrsEG oh I forgot about the lakes! Hopefully that will help as a distraction? It's so bloody hard to put something out of your mind when it's something this big though.

MrsEG · 17/06/2019 12:10

@Kiza My pee is still pretty yellow!! But then again, I was also taking extra B12, Vit D, omega 3 and Vit C so that could have added to it too!

@Lozzlepop ah fab!! No nothing yet but she was in a clinic 9-1 so I’m basically just staring at my phone now willing it to ring...!

LokiCat · 17/06/2019 12:10

@Lottiepink FF initially said same as you, that I ovulated on CD17 but after the huge drop at CD29 it then changed that I hadn't ovulated.. so I'm not sure. Also, I usually have EWCM but didn't this cycle.

@Lozzlepop I'm 14dpo today, so one or the other should have shown up.
My luteal phase has generally been 14 days so not sure what's happening!
Hope you get your positive OPK soon 🤞🏽

@MrsEG I really hope she calls soon!

@purplefig I can't believe you're already 6 weeks, it's flown by! Hope you're feeling well.

purplefig · 17/06/2019 12:11

@LindyMoe as I'm sure you know, rather unhelpfully PMS and early pregnancy symptoms can be really similar so don't count yourself out just let. One podcast series that I found really, really helpful was Fertile Ground which focuses on the mind body connection. It's a bit hippy dippy, she swears like a trooper and also refers to listeners as "mummabears" 🤢so it's certainly not for everyone, but I found the overall messages so helpful. Really helped with my TTC sanity.

purplefig · 17/06/2019 12:15

@LokiCat have you tested yet? Like you say, you'd expect AF by 14dpo. Yeah it's gone pretty quickly, but it feels like cheating as they count the start of pregnancy from your period 😂

starkid · 17/06/2019 12:17

@purplefig - thanks, I wasn't being serious haha. I'm ok, in the middle of AF which has been a rather crampy one so far, so that's... great 😂

@LindyMoe - fellow over-thinking, anxious, controlling Capricorn! (Not saying you're all these things, just projecting). I have to just try and ignore it when it's something I can no longer control, and find something else temporary to obsess over e.g. a project, tv show, video game etc. This is coming from someone on cycle 12 now, so I've played the long game of distract distract distract!

LindyMoe · 17/06/2019 12:19

@purplefig thanks, the hippier the better! How are you anyway? And yes I know about the pms thing but cant help but shake that it hasnt happened again. Trying everything to distract myself... Like heading to the gym now... At lunch!

Lozzlepop · 17/06/2019 12:24

@starkid hahaha thats ok, I mean I wish I had them 😂

@purplefig well who knows 🤷🏽‍♀️first cycle off of BC was CD18, then CD16 the cycle i got pregnant on, first cycle post MC was CD23 so I'm hoping it goes back to day 16 🤞🏻

@MrsEG hopefully she calls you as soon as possible!

@LokiCat any AF symptoms? do you have any FRERs? Thank you, me too!

cupcakesandglitter · 17/06/2019 12:24

@LindyMoe I get that, my anxiety is through the roof with TTC, especially when it's something I have no control over. The first thing for me was to sit with DH and talk about how I felt, and asked him to be honest with how he felt. We then did like a brainstorm of things we know we haven't done ie. lose weight, buy pre seed, be 100% on the ball with vitamins etc. That's all the small stuff - we've talked about our possible options, and we've come to realise that neither of us think we will NEVER have children, just that maybe it's not the right time. We've said even if IVF didn't work we'd talk about adopting - so I think knowing we will be parents (biological or not) has calmed me down a little. I also take some time out with practising mindfulness, and remembering to appreciate my body (after all, I still have periods and I'm sure some months I've ovulated so it's definitely doing something) but also appreciating DH for the fact that he's such a wonderful husband and I'm happy to have found someone who makes me want to have a family with. It's soppy and I know the bad days outweigh everything, but I'm fed up of feeling so rubbish about it, I'm determined to get my baby but I want to know that I'm in the right headspace for when it does happen.... hope that helps? X

MrsEG · 17/06/2019 12:26

@purplefig I’m hoping the Lakes will be an absolutely wonderful distraction! Really can’t wait for it. My consultant had said she would start scanning me at 6 weeks with subsequent pregnancies too so at least it would make that ‘wait’ fly by much quicker, if we get there. Also I am getting a very strange sensation in my thighs today?! Never had that before.

LokiCat · 17/06/2019 13:05

@purplefig I did test over the weekend using an IC but a very clear bfn. I haven't had any symptoms/feel pregnant like I did last time so don't think this cycle is the one for me.
Haha true. Have you worked out a rough due date?

@Lozzlepop I do have a FRER at home but didn't want to waste it.. so haven't tested with it yet. No symptoms in relation to AF either.. I only get cramps, but haven't felt any of those either!

ImMeantToBeWorking · 17/06/2019 13:08

@Validuser sorry to hear about AF. I came on just to keep track of you. Fingers crossed for you for next month.

I met with my doc on Thursday as I am going with Sligo, coming from my direction UCHG is a good 2 hours in traffic, that would have been my first choice except that.

ELW85 · 17/06/2019 13:09

@cupcakesandglitter - sorry to jump in, but what a lovely post about your outlook on anxiety and your DH.
I get really anxious too and it’s really helpful to see how you’ve both approached it.

@MrsEG - hopefully you get to speak to your consultant soon (sorry if I’ve missed it and you already have!) got everything crossed for you :)

I’ve just rang the doctors and apparently everything is normal apart from my prolactin which was 636 (I think the upper level is 619) but they took it in my mid-luteal phase when it might naturally be higher anyway so they want to re-test at the start of my next cycle.
I’ve done a bit of reading on it and high prolactin could cause a luteal deficiency, which ties in with my concerns...but given where the ranges are, I’m not going to worry about it just yet.

cupcakesandglitter · 17/06/2019 13:22

That's okay @ELW85 it's a really hard time for all of us, but it's nothing we can't get through ❤️ DH and I have sobbed our hearts out too many times saying we can't do it - but of course we can! If we're strong enough to be partners and future parents, we're 100% all strong enough to deal with this x

purplefig · 17/06/2019 13:27

@MrsEG that's what I got just before BFP! Really weird ache in thigh / where legs meet body. Great news about the early scan too. Did she advise you keep on the baby aspirin? Hope she calls really soon.

@LokiCat that's fair enough, you probably have a pretty solid idea of difference between the two. Internet calculators all day early Feb!

@cupcakesandglitter totally agree with @ELW85 - what a gorgeous message and outlook.

@ELW85 good news everything is normal. Your prolactin sounds right on the cusp so glad they're retesting.
