Thanks @Lozzlepop @ELW85 that's really helpful. I've never done the temping, do you have a chart template I could use that would help?

purplefig · 20/06/2019 11:45

@LindyMoe it's not helpful when people make flippant comments. But just know that it's quite normal for it to take healthy couples a year (or even longer) to conceive. Like @ELW85 said you'll get loads of great support on here. If it's any consolation, I was completely naive to how hard ttc was and was genuinely shocked I wasn't pregnant by cycle 3! In the end it took me 9 cycles. Big hugs and all the best. I know I harp on about it, but if you haven't already 'Taking Charge if your Fertility' is a great book to read.

@MrsEG that's great you can start on them now though, hopefully she can reassure you when she sees you. July 1st is so soon too!

purplefig · 20/06/2019 11:47

@LindyMoe I'd also recommend temping - there's loads of details on how to do it in TCOYF. You need a BBT thermometer and a way to track - Fertility Friend is a great free app. The month I got my BFP I was temping and using OPKs to pinpoint ovulation so I really am a fan!

Lozzlepop · 20/06/2019 11:49

@ELW85 that’s it we just need to keep on at it and it will happen I have no doubt ☺️

@MrsEG that’s fantastic that you are getting some answers already and not long till the scanning starts ☺️

@LindyMoe I haven’t tried temping myself but I know there’s a few apps such as fertility friend where you can input your data and you can pinpoint ovulation! You should be able to get a basal temperature thermometer from amazon.

MrsEG · 20/06/2019 11:51

@purplefig @Lozzlepop I hope so, I’m just riddled with fear now that I’ve left it too late to start this medication. But all I can do is just start taking it now and hope for the very best.
I know - her secretary has already called me and booked me in for July 1. That’s today’s goal now - just make it to July 1. Baby steps!

LindyMoe · 20/06/2019 11:52

You are all a lovely bunch of people, sincerely x

flossy12 · 20/06/2019 11:53

So girls coming closer to a positive, only problem is off on a 3 night holiday tomorrow with my sister so think I'm going to miss DTD on ovulation or the day before 😫😫😭

@MrsEG - oh I’m so happy you got to speak to her, and it’s great that you’re actually getting to see her today! Please let me know how you get on :)
I wouldn’t worry about the prescription- if she thought it was critical, she would have hauled you in straight away, I’m sure!

@purplefig - our of curiosity, were you using OPKs all along or was it from cycle 9? From what I remember, temping was new to cycle 9? I’m just being nosy! :D

@LindyMoe - OvaGraph is the website that has the temping charts aligned to the ‘Taking Charge of Your Fertility (TCOYF)’ if you want to check out those resources? As @purplefig says, fertility friend is also great!

purplefig · 20/06/2019 12:10

@MrsEG hour to hour. I think that's the best way to cope and you really are doing brilliantly.

@ELW85 nose away!! 😂 I used OPKs in one of my first cycles but I got fed up of having to dehydrate myself so I stopped. Cycle 9 I decided to throw everything at it and I was using OPKs/temping to pinpoint ovulation and confirm LP length.

kuksoolkid · 20/06/2019 12:18

@MrsH497 Thank you :) I'll try again on my date I'm due my AF and see.

@purplefig I don't think you're naive to think you can get pregnant that quickly/easily. Society drums it into us from a young age to be so careful because it only takes once and it's so easy to get pregnant. Not that I'm saying the shouldn't warn but it wasn't until I did my research that I realised that it would probably take us quite a while!

ELW85 · 20/06/2019 12:31

@purplefig - ah I’m with you! I’m so happy that you got your BFP :) clearly, persistence is the key!

LokiCat · 20/06/2019 13:36

Hi ladies! Finishing some last few bits for packing! I was reading more about getting two peak readings last night, which was quite interesting. Apparently sometimes you can get an LH surge earlier in the cycle before the follicle is ready to release the egg. So a second surge will occur when egg is released.
I guess I now know what signs to look for. Next cycle I'll keep an eye out for fertile cm, along with a positive opk and high temp reading to confirm ovulation.
So much to think about!!

@ELW85 I'm glad you woke up feeling more positive today! It's a great outlook to have and I'm sure you're that much closer to a BFP!
Your DH sounds lovely - I hope you enjoyed the Ben and Jerry's and roses! 😍

@Lozzlepop well done for sticking with SMEP! I think I may take a crack at it next cycle, but then try and continue even after I get an LH surge just incase it's the same as this cycle! Might be a tiresome cycle! 😂

@MrsEG glad you managed to talk to the consultant and I hope she's been able to reassure you? Sounds like there's a plan in place! Have everything crossed for you :)

@LindyMoe ah I'm sorry you're feeling low. It does seem like everyone seems to be getting pregnant very easily, but you're not alone, we'll all always be here for support and we're all going this together.
I can't recommend temping enough. I started this cycle and I've learnt a lot more about my cycle/when ovulation has occurred because of it. I also think fertility friend is a brilliant app. Fingers crossed it'll happen soon xx

Will be on the way to the airport soon. Hoping to see some BFPs when I'm back! Fingers crossed for you all!! Speak soon 😊❤️

LokiCat · 20/06/2019 13:37

Oh and it looks like it's almost the end of this thread, can someone tag me in the new one for when I'm back pls 😊

MrsEG · 20/06/2019 13:58

@LokiCat @ELW85 @purplefig Just back from the clinic now. I’ve two pills to take daily, but also a self-administered injection to be done every day. Absolutely petrified of that one; DH is probably going to do them so I can close my eyes. Have never injected myself before in my life, it looks fairly simple though. I really really really hope this all works!

ELW85 · 20/06/2019 14:26

@LokiCat - I honestly don’t know what I’d do without him. He’s the most amazing person ❤️ I know; super-soppy!
It sounds like you’re really clued-up on the signs of Ov now and you’re in a great place for monitoring everything next cycle :)
Have a fantastic trip!!

@MrsEG - that sounds like a brilliant outcome! You’ve got loads of support and a really clear treatment plan :)
Got everything crossed for you that this is the one xx

MrsEG · 20/06/2019 14:38

@ELW85 DH sounds like an absolute dream!!
Yeah I really am pleased, my consultant is a dream. We’ve estimated I am only 4+3 so she doesn’t think I am late starting treatment at all.
DH just did my first injection as I felt sick thinking about it and you know what, it wasn’t too bad at all. The things we do!!!

ELW85 · 20/06/2019 14:42

@MrsEG - I am so, so happy for you :) and your DH sounds awesome! It can’t be easy injecting your OH!
It’s all going to be worth it, and hopefully the treatment has given you some peace of mind too :)
Not long til I go to the docs to talk about my results - kind of nervous, but it’s a way forward!

MrsEG · 20/06/2019 14:58

@ELW85 I’ve got my fingers firmly crossed for you guys, really hope it’s all a step in the right direction :)

Fivebyfive2 · 20/06/2019 15:32

@MrsEG, just wanted to pop on and say I'm so happy you're consultant is looking after you and that you have a good treatment plan in place! Your dh sounds amazing, so glad that you're so supported by him and your friends and family. Although, it is only what you deserve, you're an amazing person, always so supportive to us all and very positive. Xxx

cupcakesandglitter · 20/06/2019 15:41

@MrsEG couldn't have said it any better than @Fivebyfive2 mega happy for you ❤️ xx

MrsEG · 20/06/2019 15:56

@Fivebyfive2 @cupcakesandglitter Thank you so much lovely ladies xxxx

MaceyP87 · 20/06/2019 16:02

@DuchessofPemberley congratulations on your BFP.

An update on us. Today is 8 DPO and this morning at 0610 we did temperature and it had dropped by 0.4c so quite the dip. Could be getting ready for AF though. Also worth to note woke up with headache.

Around midday wife started to have nausea, a numb back pain rather than a muscular pain which last around an hour. Went toilet around 2 and had light bleed / spotting. Could very well be implantation only time will tell. We are planning to do a test on Sunday unless AF arrives.

MrsEG · 20/06/2019 17:25

Also, my monthly delivery of FRERs from Amazon just arrived (ha). Couldn’t resist so just did one. Technically we think I’m about 16DPO now but still, I don’t think I’ve ever had quite such a strong line before. It came up immediately. I still can’t quite believe this is happening.

Hey ladies!

That's a lovely strong lobe @MrsEG so pleased everything is in place for you this time.

I'm now Cd21. Totally given up on OPKs are they are very pale now so totally missed my surge somehow (despite testing 2-3/day) 🤷‍♀️. I've taken the negatives out of the apps and they have be ovulating somewhere between sat and Monday according to BBT. I'm hoping that as temp is on the way up that I have ovulated.

We're off on holiday early Saturday morning and I will not be taking my thermometer 😂😂.

Anyone testing this weekend?

ELW85 · 20/06/2019 18:00

Hi ladies
Back from the docs; they want me in for CD3 tests tomorrow and to re-test my prolactin (which was high). Interestingly, high prolactin causes the low progesterone I was worried about so at least if it remains high, it’ll get treated and maybe remedy my LP.
The doctor thinks my progesterone levels are good though, so we shall have to wait and see!

@MrsEG - what a line!! Wow!! So pleased for you and thanks for the lovely message earlier :)

@LikeTheFruit - if your temp is up enough for a shift, it sounds like you’ve Ov’d? Difficult to tell but you could still be gearing up? It’s a tempestuous journey, this TTC!

@MaceyP87 - good luck!
