@twinkleyes35

Hello! I am also 35, and TTC no.1. I think I am about 7 or 8 days DPO, and you?

I am on cycle 8 - but I have a whole host of issues including PCOS and a prob with my pituitary gland which makes my prolactin levels sky high! So I am settling in for the long haul, ha ha!! On the bright side, I can skip the wait at my doctors for the fertility clinic, so if we haven’t had success within a year we are going to give that a go.

Most of my friends waited until they were 33+ to start having babies - and now they are all popping them out left right and centre. Sometimes it makes me jealous, and sometimes it makes me glad OH and I still have some of that freedom…

downs bottle of wine

lies in bed all day

:-P

@TashDreams @MrsEG

Me too! I just started taking that yesterday, so we’ll see if it sorts things out. I am looking proper skanky right now, thank goodness I am not in my FW, cos not sure OH would have much interest!!

KittieKath · 12/06/2019 09:49

@ValidUser sorry to hear BFN... still, not out til AF comes, huh?

I am dpo 7 and not a single symptom. Frantically symptom spotting cos got myself all het up with Father's Day round the corner! But really can't even find anything to exaggerate in my head...

¯\(ツ)

I need to remember to take a breather and calm the f**k down. It's just another month, chill winston!

ELW85 · 12/06/2019 09:50

Thanks ladies!! It’ll be good to just have a chat and get some answers :)

starkid · 12/06/2019 10:36

@ValidUser - aw sorry to hear it :(
@ELW85 - good luck at the docs!
@Lottiepink - Aw sorry to hear AF arrived :(
I feel the same way today that you did yesterday, so think I'll be out tomorrow !

ValidUser · 12/06/2019 10:37

Thanks everyone! I'm ok. 😊

@ValidUser sorry to hear that

I had done my test today and it was BFN as well I had faint lines couple of days ago and was thinking hcg levels boils rise by now and so went and bought digi test only to find out bfn 😢 very disheartening.

But going to make sure this stress of bfn shouldn't reduce my chances of BFP this month so keeps it calm with smiley face GrinWink

Baby dust to all TTC xx 🤰

twinkleyes35 · 12/06/2019 11:10

@KittieKath

I am 10 days past Af so ovulation time is nearing again.. hubby works away for 2 weeks a month so getting the days right can be nightmare. We had taken off so we will get this week together .... and try to BD and make most of this month

Keeping fingers cross
Leading to believe that the month gone was our month but ended with bfn only shows there was reason to have felt tht feeling . I am taking that as positive sign that was just to prepare us for good news coming SmileGrin
Xxx

My friends circle are the same infact last year 3 of my friends and my sis in law all were pregnant at the same time they all popped out babies a month apart from each other. Going to baby showers and then to see babies made us expert in buying baby stuff Wink.

Finding out nappies comes all in different sizes was a shocker 🤪

All good for preparation.

Good luck and baby dust xx

MrsEG · 12/06/2019 11:21

@KittieKath Good luck! I’ve been getting on fine with the methylfolate so far, it’s just a bit more expensive! I’m similar - just turned 34, starting trying not long after my 33rd birthday as did many friends - who are all now pregnant or had their babies.

Weirdly, my sister went to a medium recently (she’s in to all that hoo-hah) and she kept on about an older women coming through, who was in our family who had had many losses (didn’t say at this point what kind). And my sis was baffled and was sure it wasn’t anything for her, but then this medium said ‘It’s definitely for you, and she is just saying that you need to pass a message on to someone very close to you that it will happen, and having a family is just harder for some people’! Sis called mum - Mum had an aunt who had quite a lot of miscarriages! Spooky or what. I’m such a cynic though, but sis is convinced as how could this medium know that?! Weird.

LokiCat · 12/06/2019 13:18

@Lozzlepop @MrsEG we're thinking of driving down to Bath, but maybe stop at a few places on the way, such as Lacock in Wiltshire. I've always wanted to see Lacock Abbey (mainly because of Harry Potter).
I just hope the weather perks up!

@MrsEG ah hope you're not coming down with something and it was just the gym. The weather has taken quite a turn. The winter seems to be turning up in June. I hope you feel better
That medium stuff sounds spooky. I'm quite a cynic as well usually, but sometimes I do wonder!

@twinkleyes35 Sorry to hear about bfn! The digital test aren't as sensitive as a FRER, so it may take a little while before they show up. Fingers crossed for you!

@starkid Hope AF doesn't show up tomorrow! Will you be testing if it doesn't?

@KittieKath I told myself I wasn't going to symptom spot but I'm 6/7dpo and can't stop. Wondering if every backache or twinge in my stomach is a sign 🙈🙈
I really want to surprise DH for Father's Day but I know I'm just purring too much stress on myself!
We all do it though, too difficult not to 🙊

starkid · 12/06/2019 13:32

@LokiCat - it'll be 11dpo so tempting, if I have no sign of spotting in the morning I might do... just feels like AF on its way so much at the mo, ticking all the boxes :( keep rushing to the loo to check haha

starkid · 12/06/2019 13:33

Although again, I don't actually know for certain when I ovulated, just guesswork! Confused

Lozzlepop · 12/06/2019 13:51

@LokiCat that sounds lovely 😊 I know what you mean about the weather, stepped off the plane to an absolute deluge! Waiting on the luggage then home to see the fluffy one who will be no doubt displeased at our absence that we’ll get screamed at for an hour or so 😂😂 I will keep everything crossed for some sun ☀️

PippaPug · 12/06/2019 14:38

@ValidUser - hope your ok Flowers

@ELW85 - Good luck today at the doctors!

purplefig · 12/06/2019 14:59

@MrsEG oh wow, that medium message is so interesting. I tread
a fine line between skeptic and woo dabbler, but truthfully I doubt we know half of what's real. And how oddly specific and relevant is that message?! I'm with your sister on this one. Sorry to hear you're feeling under the weather - I feel floaty today too, that's just the word for it. No gym excuses here though 😂

@ValidUser sorry to hear that lovely, hope you're doing ok.

@ELW85 I hope your appointment went well!

@Lozzlepop so glad you had a lovely holiday. I could do with some sun too - what's happened to summer?!

Lottiepink · 12/06/2019 15:26

Thanks everyone!

Weird though, was a little hasty on the af front.

I had on and off twinges since Saturday as if it's af, then strong pains this morning, usually when they get quite intense I'm normally bleeding as soon as I go to the toilet.
So this morning when I posted I got the strong pains and felt very wet 🙈 sorry 😬
But no blood, still none yet. I'm pretty sure I will be tonight as my temp dropped this morning also...
just keeping me on my toes I think!

MrsEG · 12/06/2019 15:42

@Lottiepink Interesting!! If you think you could still be in with a shot 🤞🏻 avoid the ibuprofen you mentioned yesterday, it’s not indicated in pregnancy. Go paracetamol instead! I’ll keep hopeful for you :)

@purplefig Ha floaty is my fave ‘I don’t feel quite right’ word! I feel much better after lots of sugar (I made biscoff blondies for the office today). Hope you’re feeling better soon!

@ELW85 Really hope the appointment went well today!

@LokiCat ahh that sounds like a fab road trip! The weather is pants but DH always like to say ‘Don’t worry, we’re waterproof’! Enjoy :)

To all thinking about testing on Father’s Day I’ll keep all fingers and toes crossed for you ♥️

ELW85 · 12/06/2019 16:36

@PippaPug*@starkid@MrsEG*@Lozzlepop@purplefig@LokiCat Thank you so much for the well wishes.

Unfortunately, it didn’t go very well. The doctor wouldn’t entertain any of my concerns on my progesterone. I had my BBT graphs to show her, but she said they could only refer me to a specialist and apparently the referral guidelines have gone up in Newcastle, so you can’t be referred until you’ve been trying for 18 months.

She didn’t even talk to DH.

Sorry for the rant but I’m feeling pretty down...my concern is my progesterone (irrespective of trying to conceive) and I’ve got decent evidence of this with charting my cycles so I don’t see the downside of investigating my progesterone if it’s the thing that’s stopping us from conceiving and is unlikely to get better on its own.

Anyway - @MrsEG those Biscoff blondies sound amazing!!

MrsEG · 12/06/2019 16:44

@ELW85 I’ve really had such a similar experience with GPs - it just isn’t their ‘bag’ at all it would seem. Whilst wonderful when I’ve had my BFPs when it has come to fertility issues they are hopeless. Could you look in to a private fertility MOT local to you? For that, mine was £275 and it means you have a private fertility specialist. I say go for it. Sorry it was such a waste of time - I really do know how frustrated you must be feeling.

And yes - they are so delicious I can’t make them often as I’ve been known to just sit and eat them directly from the tin 🤤

purplefig · 12/06/2019 16:51

@ELW85 sorry to hear that, how frustrating! It seems like so many ladies in this thread haven't had much luck with their GPs and fertility. I'd second @MrsEG and considering booking in for a private consultation with an actual specialist, that way you won't be fobbed off and they'll take your concerns seriously.

ELW85 · 12/06/2019 17:01

@purplefig @MrsEG thanks so much ladies!
I totally get that other people are in a much worse boat than I am, so I shouldn’t really feel frustrated but I ended up crying in a bathroom showroom today. What an idiot!!

But yes, you’re absolutely right - you can’t put a price on progress or peace of mind, so we’re going to go for a private MOT.
DH suggested it after the docs, and as much as he doesn’t want to go (he’s freaking out about the SA) it’s the right thing to do.

Thanks again for all of the support :) couldn’t be without you ladies!!

starkid · 12/06/2019 17:02

@ELW85 - that really sucks to hear - 18 months! Maybe private with a specialist is the way forward, as you at least want a blood test done before then to rule certain things out like progesterone.

ELW85 · 12/06/2019 17:05

@starkid - definitely thinking a private MOT is the way to go, just for peace of mind or a way forward :)
18 months feels crazy as I’m going to be 35 at the start of next year, so I don’t really want to be pushed into a higher risk bracket.

LokiCat · 12/06/2019 17:14

@ELW85 I'm sorry the GP wasn't helpful. It is frustrating when they don't even try to understand/see if they can help and just try to refer you instead
I hope the private MOT is useful! It does sound like the best way to go.
Also how annoying that they cancelled your original appointment because your DH wasn't coming and then didn't even talk to him!
Please don't feel beat yourself up for crying over it. It doesn't matter if others are going through something worse, you're allowed to get upset and let out your frustration. Take care and be kind to yourself lovely x

@MrsEG @Lozzlepop thanks ladies!

@Lottiepink fingers crossed you're still in then! 🤞🏽🤞🏽

ELW85 · 12/06/2019 17:25

Thank you, @LokiCat, that means a lot :)
And yes, DH wasn’t happy that they made me cancel my appointment and take a half day!
It would have been worth it if it had of worked out, I guess.

Just sent an email off to get a private MOT booked in :) onwards and upwards!

MrsEG · 12/06/2019 17:30

@ELW85 Ah yay, great stuff! You won’t believe the difference in the appointments haha! And at mine even though she was basically totally focused on me, she still really involved DH too. Worth it’s weight in credit card gold!
Might I suggest a big fat bar of Galaxy this evening?

I’m unexpectedly off out for a big fancy dinner tonight - friends I haven’t seen in ages are in town and taking me out! Would be rude to say no, of course. Have smashing evenings all x
