@MrsEG HAHAHAHAHAHA. "Oh yes I vaguely know of it". logs on immediately afterwards to update MN pals. Love it.

Oh yes I remember your lovely Lake District holiday plans, that'll be lush and a great distraction. And dw, no chance I'll test now....just probably go to bed and do my hypnosis at about 8pm. Blush

MrsEG · 06/06/2019 15:10

@purplefig I know!! She seemed a bit irritated by it given they’d named her and she was being bombarded with emails and calls, so I didn’t want to be all ‘Oh yes, I love it!!’ or have her thinking I saw her name on there!! I can see why people rave about her though - honestly have a bit of a girl crush!

It will be tomorrow before you know it! Get the Epsom salts and hop in the bath!

FlapJackered · 06/06/2019 15:10

@purplefig I really don't know if I am optimistic or not. I have no reason to be optimistic as all my symptoms have been normal af ones. I am definitely hopeful though! I am definitely optimistic for you!!

@MrsEG that's good to know! Thanks for telling us all the expert tips.
That's so funny she is Mumsnet famous and great you managed to get her as your consultant! The lakes sound amazing! It's on my bucket list to go with the dog.

MrsEG · 06/06/2019 15:21

@FlapJackered It’s SO lovely, we’re lucky in Manchester that it’s close enough you could even just go for a day, but this time we have two nights booked in a ‘hobbit hole’ tent! It’s by Ullswater which is absolutely beautiful. I can’t wait!

I’m working from home this afternoon but I just cannot concentrate at all after this morning!! Luckily my two line reports know what is going on and are just amazing, both sending me emails like ‘don’t worry we’re all over everything!’ so I may just log off early!

On the downside, I was invited to a baby shower today and my gut told me not to go. I’m working so hard on staying positive and I just think that much ‘pregnancy’ and baby stuff might be a bit much too soon. DH says go with my gut. Do you think I could get away with not going and just dropping a present off??

purplefig · 06/06/2019 15:23

@MrsEG I'm so glad you got her. A mumsnet famous fertility consultant. Can't beat it. I might actually do just that - need to pop out for a FRER later anyway so I'll add some epsom baths to my strange shopping basket.

@FlapJackered that's very kind of you! I can't say I feel astronomically different to usual - my boobs are often sore pre-AF and I do sometimes get on and off cramping. Who knows. We'll find out tomorrow! I am keeping my fingers so very tightly crossed for you.

@MrsEG have you been to the lakes before? I've been a couple of times and it's just so ridiculously gorgeous. @FlapJackered you've got to take my dog - I didn't and I felt so guilty the whole time as he'd of loved it. It's a proper British getaway imho; lots of blustery walks and plenty of decent pubs. I think you'll have an absolute ball @MrsEG .

purplefig · 06/06/2019 15:24

@MrsEG You could 1000000% getaway with not going and just dropping a present off. I wholeheartedly agree with your DH and go with your gut.

MrsH497 · 06/06/2019 15:33

@MrsEG I think giving a gift and then leaving is fine and totally understandable. Agree with DH go with your gut. X

dahlia123 · 06/06/2019 18:07

@purplefig it's definitely helps! So good to have a space like this. At home it does sometimes feel like I've made pretty major lifestyle changes while TTC and feels like he's taking it a bit more seriously at last. Hold onto the sink when you test tomorrow! Hope the ewcm is a sign.

@LokiCat we've def had the when bits are needed convo!!

@MrsH497 that should be great welcome home!

@MrsEG love that he got involved at the appointment! 'Outed on Mumsnet' - that's hilarious 🤣 reckon she checks up on the threads...?! Hobbit hole sounds fun. For the baby shower can you say you've already got plans and post a pressie?

Bettythecat · 06/06/2019 19:25

Girls- talk to me about sore boobs. My boobs have been super sore but seem almost to be pain free today and seem to have deflated a bit. Completely over analysing everything but did this happen to anyone else?

Bettythecat · 06/06/2019 19:26

IGNORE- Christ sorry everyone posted that on the wrong thread. Does anyone know how to delete a post?! 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

ValidUser · 06/06/2019 19:32

@Bettythecat no problem. I often have sore boobs. I, however, am not yet pregnant. 😂

MrsEG · 06/06/2019 19:41

@purplefig @dahlia123 I know, I’ve been Googling her tonight and lots of lovely stories :) There were so many ‘thank you’ cards in her clinic and a big fresh bunch of flowers!

@purplefig I have been to the Lakes before, I love it - I think it’s exactly what we need for a break at the moment; fresh air!!

Thanks everyone for baby shower advice; I’ve declined the invite and am going to see her the day before on her own to give her my presents. She was fine about it too :) I’ve asked DH to go out and buy the presents; again, a bit too much for me at the mo.

@Bettythecat Pregnancy symptoms will come and go! If you’re really worried about anything have you considered booking an early reassurance scan?

LokiCat · 06/06/2019 19:43

@MrsEG haha that's brilliant that she's MN famous! If only she knew how much we've discussed her today! I am glad you found her and clearly there's a reason she's so popular!
I think I agree with DH and others here, go with your gut and don't force yourself into a situation you don't want to be around. You've been through a lot and deserve a break!

@purplefig bahah love all the signs you've identified! The wetness seems promising though. I've been feeling quite wet down there all day and it honestly does feel like I've wet myself. Doesn't help that I'm bursting for the toilet after only a sip of water! So strange

@MrsH497 hope you and your DH have a great night tonight 😉

@FlapJackered haha your internal battle about poas sounds so familiar! it always ends with my rational side telling off the addict for giving in 😂

@cupcakesandglitter haha oh no! I hope the dates help!

@Bettythecat haha I think you can report it and ask one of the mods to delete it!
I hope all is fine though!

Bettythecat · 06/06/2019 19:44

@MrsEG thank you 💜. I've got an early one booked at the EPU in two weeks time. I just feel so worried about it all as I also had so few symptoms last time it's making me really worry- all I want is to be throwing up!!. I'm sorry to bother this thread with it.

MrsEG · 06/06/2019 19:48

@Bettythecat Not bothering anyone at all, I love when ‘Grads’ drop back in! Just try to relax - the EPU appt will be here in no time and like I say, those early symptoms will come and go. Some women are lucky enough to sail through without symptoms at all! Xx

@LokiCat Thanks lovely, how are you feeling this cycle? I’m so looking forward to lots of BFPs on this thread soon :)

LokiCat · 06/06/2019 19:55

@MrsEG I've been okay, thanks! A part of me is worried I haven't ovulated as I didn't get a positive on CB digitals only on the strip tests. The temp rises are keeping me optimistic though - I'm really glad I started that this cycle (although I'm so obsessed with checking my temperature every morning - not sure I needed something to obsess over!)
I've booked a few catch up dinners with friends next week and then we're off on holiday the week after. So I will be sufficiently distracted should it not go to plan this cycle!

Oh me too! I will eagerly be checking this thread as soon as I get up tomorrow hopefully for some news!

purplefig · 06/06/2019 19:59

HAAAALP!!! DH got the wrong First Response 😭😭😭 will this one be any good at 13 dpo?! It says from day of period but I'm on day 31 and my cycles vary from 27 to 36 so no idea.

TTC First Baby Thread 19
MrsEG · 06/06/2019 20:20

@LokiCat I know what you mean; I use Ava and I feel so nervous when I sync the temperature in the morning! It’s such a reliable way of catching Ov though. Sounds like you’ve plenty to distract yourself with!!

@purplefig panic not! By 13DPO you should get a reliable result on any test; implantation should have happened a few days prior. So I think you’ll be fine :) They are a bit less sensitive than the FRERs but you’re not testing ludicrously early so you’ll still get a result 🤞🏻

purplefig · 06/06/2019 20:28

@MrsEG you're a star - thanks! Very gutted this still means I'm a FRER virgin however.

LikeTheFruit · 06/06/2019 20:29

Just popping in to say I've got a really good feeling for you @LokiCat and @purplefig !! Hope the testing goes well tomorrow.

I'm a massive tea Jenny (5/6 cups a day) and have decided to cut down on caffeine. So only having one caffein tea a day, rest decaf and omg the headaches!! Hope they pass soon.

MrsEG · 06/06/2019 20:31

@purplefig You can always get a FRER to back it up if you get your BFP; don’t think I’ve ever done less than 3 to make myself believe haha!

@LikeTheFruit I quit caffeine cold turkey a while ago for various reasons and yes, first two weeks are brutal, they really are. If you can make it through the first few weeks though your body adjusts and I honestly don’t miss it at all - I actually had a can of Diet Coke on Monday as it was just all they had in a cafe and I couldn’t drink it, tasted awful!! Hang in there :)

LikeTheFruit · 06/06/2019 20:40

@MrsEG thanks for the encouragement. It's scary how reliant our bodies become to things. I had to have a nap when I got in from work today. Glad your appointment went well, everything crossed for you that you get some answers.

purplefig · 06/06/2019 20:41

@LikeTheFruit thank you! I'll keep you all posted. Really not optimistic (self protection?!?) but need to check as weekend of drinking with pals if not 😂. Sorry to hear about your headaches...was going to say hopefully they go soon but.....@MrsEG two weeks?!?! How did you cope? I'm down to half a cup of coffee ground. Planning to quit next cycle. Not looking forward to it.....

LokiCat · 06/06/2019 20:53

@MrsEG yeah I've started making sure I'm busy the TWW so I'm distracted! Luckily we've had urgent cases coming in at work so I've been pretty swamped! Helps that I love what I do!

@LikeTheFruit thanks! I won't be testing till next Saturday, though - just looking forward to seeing others BFPs tomorrow Grin
Ah I hope the headaches pass soon! I'm not a coffee/tea junkie myself, but I do see DHs reactions when he's without his coffee 🙄

@purplefig haha 'FRER virgin' bless you. At least you're one step closer with these FR tests. As MrsEG said, I think I took about 5 tests when I got my BFP just to make sure they weren't faulty! :)

Kiza · 06/06/2019 20:58

Ahhh ladies I've been MIA all week as work is so busy and whenever I've tried to come on here I've been overwhelmed at the amount of catch up! There's more chat on here in a day than on an episode of love island! 🌴😆

@purplefig @LokiCat just about managed to catch up that you're both poas tomorrow with some promising symptoms- eeeekk exciting!
Heading to bed as knackered but looking forward to a quieter day work wise so can keep up with the MN chat! 👍🏼
