Late period negative test

Just that really, period is late but test is negative, any ideas?

I was 8 days late before I got a positive x

Late ovulation delays your period. It also delays when you'd get a positive test, if pregnant.

Think my period could be up to 4 days late, isnt it unusual to get an unreliable negative once period is late?any reasons for late period other than pregnancy?

Re-read my post! Late ovulation causes a late period and is not caused by pregnancy!

Ah yes sorry that makes sense, i had sex about 2pm and there was a small amount of blood so i thought hooray my period has started but i havent bled since, think i will re test in the morning
