Month one of trying at 35, miscarriage. Month two of trying, still 35 when baby born. Month two of trying, baby at 37. Month one of trying, baby born at 38.

This thread shows that although statistically, there are some women whose fertility may be affected by their late thirties, there are many, many who are still easily able to have babies!

Had a conversation about TTC on the way to airport.

Spent a week getting very very drunk and shagging like teenagers.

Two weeks later BFP.

I was 41 Grin

My first at 35 was conceived the first month of trying, my second at 38 took over 6 months and I had an early miscarriage before that. I did feel like my fertility had declined after 35 but I'll never know for sure.

Started trying at 35, just over 2 years. Tried again at 38, 4 years and still counting.

8 months to conceive at 36 (I'd already had a child under 30..)

badamsgirl · 03/06/2019 09:09

Oliversmumsarmy · 03/06/2019 09:12

First time at both 39 and 41

RedWineAllMine · 03/06/2019 09:14

I had no problems conceiving, it was keeping the baby I struggled with. 5 losses, currently have healthy baby boy, he was my 6th pregnancy.

37 and one time having unprotected sex - couldn't believe it!

Whilst the ‘fertility drops off a cliff’ generalisation has been discredited as being based on imperfect and out of date data, each woman’s fertility, at any age, is only true for her and proves nothing about any other woman’s chances.

Good luck OP, if you are TTC.

PetraRabbit · 03/06/2019 10:49

At 41- 5 months
At 42- 1 month (MMC)
At 43- about 9- 10 months

37 is not really old enough to have any drastic effect on your chances but fertility varies wildly between women often for no reason. You can pass all the tests with flying colours but struggle to get preg, or you can have poor results and be ok. Age is a big factor but I think the main impact it has is that it robs you of time to fix any problems if they do arise. Good luck!

Cycle 3 age 39 (we started when I was 38)

MenstruatorExtraordinaire · 03/06/2019 16:50

1st 32 - a year to conceive
2nd 35 - hit first time
3rd 42 - again straight away
