Hi all 😊
I’m new to mumsnet, I had my implant removed two weeks ago as my husband and I have decided we are ready to begin trying for a baby. Since getting my implant removed I’ve been taking folic acid tablets and watching what I’m eating and haven’t touched alcohol either. Only thing is I was wondering if anyone had any advice on when my period should return, and ways to know if I’m ovulating? And also if anyone has any other advice or tips about trying to conceive I would really appreciate it. Thanks in advance :)

Hi, I had my implant out at the end of March and with the exception of a day's spotting it took 6 weeks for af to arrive. I was told by the nurse that it's possible to conceive straight away. I think the waiting for a cycle helps with dates. I've been taking the seven seas vitamins as they're about half price in savers. We haven't gone down the route of opk strips etc yet as early days but there's lots of threads with advice on trying to conceive. Good luck!

@mrsnicholson95 I had mine taken out after just over 5 years of having it in the week before the end of April and had my first Af 2 weeks later. Using opks off Amazon and just ovulated yesterday :) good luck xx

Had mine out and had 3/4 days withdrawal bleed, then took 3/4 months for periods to return to normal, only had one a month during those 3/4 months but they came at very different points, first month of regular periods we caught and am now 18 weeks. If you temp etc you could probably catch earlier but I wanted to let my body settle as didn’t want to overdo it with change in hormones x

Thanks everyone for your comments. They’ve been really helpful as I was getting slightly impatient thinking AF should’ve arrived already, but seeing your comments I realise it could take a while. If after a while I still haven’t had regular periods I will definitely try some ovulation sticks. Thanks again 😁

My AF arrived 1 month after having my implant removed, was then regular but very light for a few months. I had one ā€˜normal’ seeming AF after 5 months then got my BFP on the next cycle.

I’ve had two implants in my life....I fell pregnant the same month they were removed without having a period either time Blush
Just be warned OP....it can be incredibly fast!! Shock I thought the first one was a fluke, but apparently not!!
