First time posting on here but long time lurker!
DH and I have been TTC for the past few months without luck so far. I'm not too worried as I know that it all takes time. I came off the pill a year ago but we only started trying "properly" three months ago. We do know that there could be issues conceiving as DH's sperm count is low due to issues in childhood. This was checked a year ago.
One thing has changed for me though and that is that my periods are quite a bit lighter and shorter than they were even a few months ago. Added to that, for the last two months, I've had two occasions where I've had a sudden gush (TMI - sorry!) and have lost what looks like a lot of blood and tissue at once. For the rest of my period, flow is very light. So it feels like I've lost a "normal" amount of blood for an entire period but all at once.
I spoke to the GP two months ago as temperature tracking pointed to a short luteal phase (c.7 days) but he was pretty cold and clinical. Basically told me that I was young (33!), healthy and that these things take time and that I need not worry about DH's sperm count or having a short luteal phase.
Can anyone with more knowledge give me any reassurance about the changes to my period? Or even what it means. I know that going back to the GP is what I should do but he was so dismissive of my concerns that if I can get somewhere from Mumsnet, that'd be great!
