Any tips on quickly conceiving apart from the usual?

Positions to try?

Does standing on your head after DTD actually have any effect?

Hi, we are in the same boat. I am trying pregnacare conception tablets to see if that helps speed things up

MooMummy12 · 28/05/2019 17:55

@FredMyl Are you trying for your first?
I'm trying for my 2nd but it took 16 months to get caught with my first so I want it to happen a lot faster this time!

Yeah this is our first so it's all new and exciting for us. Fingers crossed for your second :-) I have read up on numerous methods such as diet, ovulation tracking etc

firstimemamma · 28/05/2019 18:03

Things we did:

I tried to be as healthy as possible- healthy diet, no booze, exercise

Pregnacare trying for a baby

Track menstrual cycle using an app

Regular sex especially on the days leading up to ovulation

Laying flat after sex

Good luck! Smile

I tried everything (it felt like) but the two things I felt helped were:

  1. soy isoflavones
  2. dtd before going to sleep and not peeing/ getting up until the morning
MooMummy12 · 28/05/2019 19:20

@FredMyl oooh good luck! 🤞🏻

@firstimemamma I'm already using an app, don't drink & working on the diet 🙈

@Chanel05 I've not heard of the first one, what's that? But 9 times out of 10, I DTD before bed and don't get up, like you say ☺️

Thankyou all btw!

@MooMummy12 if you google them there's loads of info online but you're only meant to take them on certain days in your cycle, they mimic clomid. I got pregnant the second cycle I took them and I'll be taking them again as I had a mmc.

Hi all! Hope I'm welcome here. I'm just reading through this thread and comments are helping me too as it's our first time trying too. Excitement and frustration are my two main emotions right now 😂

@MooMummy12 hope you can get pregnant quicker this time round !!

@FredMyl good luck!

@Chanel05 also interested to know what the soy thing is Smile

MooMummy12 · 29/05/2019 09:29

@Chanel05 ahh I'll look into it Thankyou!
Sorry to hear that you had MMC. Hope you're okay

@Seli3025 ofcourse you're welcome here! 😀

I have read that cutting down on caffeine makes a difference? Is there any truth to it?

Bol87 · 29/05/2019 13:18

I think a lot is just luck. The month we stopped ‘trying’ & spent the weeks before ovulation eating & drinking normally & having sex not to get pregnant (ie, all month round & afterwards, I just went to the toilet, no silly acrobatics).. we got pregnant! In fact that month, I had 4 weddings with lots of drinking & enjoyed a fair few takeaways when hungover after said weddings!

(I also drink coffee & Diet Coke daily, I did through pregnancy as well)

The only thing we are doing this time around is to use conceive plus lube (we got pregnant our first month using it) & cheap OPK’s as I just find it handy to know when to def get an early night Grin Plus regular sex through the month keeps things healthy I think & handy if ovulation is earlier or later than expected!

Good luck everyone! Smile

MooMummy12 · 29/05/2019 20:08

@FredMyl not that I'm aware of. I drank coffee a couple of times a day and drank Diet Coke all through my first pregnancy and while trying to conceive ☺️

@Bol87 Thankyou ☺️
