Late period negative test

My period is 5 days late & I've done two home tests that were both negative. We didn’t try this month but we’re unprotected two days before my period was due. Has anyone conceived so close to their period at all?

No. They haven't. It's because the time between ovulation and the start of your period is pretty static. So if you ovulated a few days before af was 'due' and became pregnant, your period was going to be late that cycle but you became pregnant instead.

5 days isn't too late. I'm sure it will show up in a couple of days.
