Fertell Male Test

Has anyone done the fertell male test? It came up for my husband really quite faint - you had to look at it by the window in the natural light to see the faint line. Does this mean he is borderline? The test says any faint line is fine no matter how faint or incomplete, but it hasn't really put my mind at rest! Thanks

TBH I would not rely on such tests as they can put such doubts into your mind.

If a semen analysis is done it is better off being done by a gynaecologist at a hospital subfertility unit.

Thanks, do you think we should just wait a bit? We have only been trying for six months and for two or three of those months, my husband was away at the "right time"

The general consensus seems to be that if you're under 35 gynaes like to see couple after 12 months of trying to conceive without success.

If you're over 35 then this they like to see you after six months of ttc.

I would pay a visit to the doc if your cycles are irregular and or are very painful leading up to or during a period.

I would not worry unduly at this stage but if your cycles change then seek medical advice sooner rather than later.

One semen analysis is not enough to conclude if there are any male factor problems; such tests should be repeated.

Put out of your mind all this "at the right time" thoughts!!!. Any rigourous timing of intercourse can do more harm than good. Ovulation can occur earlier, later or not at all in any given cycle.

I think faint line is great, I just bought one of those tests, we haven't used it yet. Sperm count changes too, it can be terrible one month and great the next, they are unpredictable little suckers, good luck.
