Positive opk before AF due!?

Hi,

I have heard that sometimes opks can detect pregnancies. AF is due tomorrow so last night I did one and the line was as dark as the control line.

Does this mean anything or do people get a LH surge before their period?

I’m scared to actually do a pregnancy test as we’ve been trying for over a year with no luck!

Any advice would be great!!

I always get an LH surge just before my period. However as you say OPKs can also detect pregnancy, so if your period doesn't show, do a pregnancy test

I have had a positive before AF and got excited, it was just an LH surge. But do a HPT as you may be pleasantly surprised

Congrats OP. You can get false positives so best to re-check tomorrow just to sure

I would say that isn't a false positive as your OPK was also positive. False positives are very rare so I am sure yours is a true positive
