Progestrone blood test?

Hi guys,

I had a progestrone blood test done yesterday just called up and my result was 31.3. Is there a chance with this level I could well be pregnant? I understand it indicates I ovulated this month but I'm going out of my mind thinking (hoping and praying..) this is our month to conceive after trying for just over 2 years now. This tww business is driving me insane

Hi Laura, don't know if it helps at all but when I got my results back they were 40 and turns out I was already pregnant (didn't know at the time) good luck x

Progesterone levels are not an indication of pregnancy one way or the other. You might be, you might not be, but only hcg levels will indicate...

@rudyroo oh wow..was that at a week past ovulation aswell? That you had the progesterone blood test? Whats the earliest that would show up on a pregnancy test if I was to test? This whole tww wait business is driving me potty..I've not got this far since ttc for the last 2 years. What are the signs for early pregnancy? I wouldbt say my boobs hurt only my nipples if I happen to brush past them I get a slight feeling but wouldnt say it hurt. I don't feel like I'm getting any symptoms for being pregnant or AF arriving. Normally a week before AF I crave chocolate but I'm not getting that yet either.

@physicskate is that a test I should ask the doctor to do? I'm currently under the fetility department at the hospital and I know they have just basically told me to wait to see if AF arrives but I cant wait.

I got the blood tests done at 5DPO which was CD22. Yes it was the progesterone test I had done to check I was ovulating as we had been trying for about 8 months. I think people say not to test earlier than 12DPO to avoid driving yourself mad so I tested on 15DPO (fully expecting it to be negative!) and was shocked to get BFP. I didn't get any symptoms until a few days after this when my nipples and boobs started to really hurt. I really didn't think I could be pregnant because there were no symptoms so you can't read too far into having them/not having them, everyone is different and there is no 'normal' - annoyingly for us! How many DPO are you?

Should have added, the only thing for me which was slightly different before I got BFP was more cm than usual.

Hola, hey @RudyRoo how you feeling? You know when you said you had more cm... what was It like? I’m 7dpo it doesn’t seem to be drying up for me. It’s creamy but bitty...if that makes sense. Today my knickers where rather wet...sorry for the tmi! I’m sure I usually dry up until a day or two before af xx

@Claire78564 yeah I'm good thanks 😊 all good apart from really sore boobs now! Yeah my cm would usually dry up the week before AF but I definitely had much more than usual and creamy. I really hope this is a good sign for you!

Hcg is simply what home pregnancy tests detect. It's only present in your blood (or wee) during pregnancy. Simply wait until af is due and take a home test.

@rudyroo I had my progesterone test done 6/7dpo I'm not sure when I ovulated tbh. On the Tuesday I had a mature follixle of 20.4 that the nurse said was ready to go any day so it was either the Wednesday or thursday. I then went for a blood test Wednesday just gone and got 30.3 progesterone level. Like yourself my CM seems to be quite a bit still..I havent ovulated properly for so long so I honestly cant remember what it's like etc. Hense why I'm symptom spotting massively. Praying this is my month. I'm going to.hold out till Saturday or Sunday morning where I will potentially be 10/11dpo and see what that says failing that I will test a few days later.

@physicskate okay that's brilliant thankyou as I said above it's all new to me. I have a LG who's nearly 7 and she was a beautiful accident so this TTC is all very new to me.
