Removing copper coil

DH and I have decided we would like to TTC no2,

This involves having the copper coil removed which has been in place for a few years now.

Does anyone have any experience of the removal process and what I can expect?

I keep going to book the appointment and get all nervous.

Also how long has it taken for you to conceive once the coil is removed?

I’m worried it might take a while to get back to normal and my nervousness is just delaying things further

I've had the copper coil out and a new one fitted at same time honestly it's nothing to worry about they say u may get a sharp pain for like 5 seconds but I felt nothing having it fitted was worse. When I had my second one removed that was same didn't feel a thing periods returned to normal straight away xx

I had a mirena IUD and had it removed twice (once to be replaced and once to TTC). The first removal was totally pain free, the second one I had a sharp cramp and it was done.
