This isn't implantation bleeding is it...?

I'm really too old to get pg now so I'm just enjoying contraceptive free sex.
For context I'm 47 (had a pg at 44 but baby had chromosomal issue)

Today is cd 16 and had a fair bit of brown streaky blood stained discharge earlier.

Had a peak on clear blue opk on cd 12.

I'm thinking it's probably a bit of bleeding because we bonked like bunnies after getting the peak! Cd 16 is way too early isn't it for implementation bleed ?

Also when had implantation bleed in past was watery pink for a bit not brown which looks more like old blood....

I got excited for about 5 seconds today before catching myself! This isn't implantation bleeding is it....I'm trying to be realistic here.

Thanks

CD 16 is not too early for implantation depending on when you ovulated. However the bleeding is often a bright pink colour.
I had brown discharge a couple of cycles ago and I didn’t end up pregnant but obviously everyone is different.
Due to your age, I would recommend you go to the doctor and mention it- the NHS recommends women over the age of 40 get bleeding between periods checked by their GP

VenusStarr · 13/05/2019 21:13

Could it be ovulation bleeding?

Alena92 · 13/05/2019 21:17

Yes I think it could be

hellenbackagen · 13/05/2019 21:49

I had a peak ovulation test cd 12'so can't be ovulation bleeding whatever that is ...

I'd have ovulated by cd 14.

So are you actively trying to get pregnant? If you are having regular periods it is still a possibility. Sorry, but I can’t tell from your OP whether you are trying or not.

Alena92 · 13/05/2019 21:54

Personally, I’d follow the advice of going to a doctor to get it checked because you’re over 40. It might be nothing, it might be pregnancy but either way, it’s recommended to be checked

VenusStarr · 13/05/2019 21:59

But if you ovulated on cd 14, it's not implantation bleeding. That generally happens around 9-12 dpo. It is far more likely to be related to ovulation.

I second getting checked out by your GP.

hellenbackagen · 13/05/2019 22:01

Thanks
Been checked out by gp very recently with scans etc.

I would love to get pg again but I'm 47 so highly unlikely.

The fact I was using opk is the clue?

Tho I've just got rid of all
Maternity wear and have given up.

I don't know when I ovulated I got a
Peak fertility on clear blue dual hormone on cd 12.!

If you ovulated CD12 and you had bleeding on CD16, if there was a fertilised egg, it would still be travelling down your Fallopian tube. It wouldn’t have implanted by day 4 as it takes a few days just to get to the uterus

Alena92 · 13/05/2019 22:10

Not saying you’re not pregnant, just saying that as it was brown blood and it was only 4 days after ovulation, I don’t think it was implantation bleeding

hellenbackagen · 13/05/2019 22:13

No I figured as much. It's just Mother Nature fucking with my head again!

At 47! I'm guessing I can safely say I'm not pregnant!
