Morning everyone - how are we all doing?! My basal body temp thermometer is arriving today and I downloaded FF - I officially feel like a fully fledged TTCer!! Weirdly excited to try it again this cycle (9).
For anyone who hasn't seen them, FF has a great series of vids on charting. Only 10 mins tops and I found them really interesting as it's new to me: fertilityfriend.com/videos.html it really hammers home the point that the fertile window is super narrow (just 3 days in most cases) and that having sex at the right time is the most important thing. I think I've definitely missed it in the past. If you do watch the vids - warning: she uses the phrase 'baby making intercourse'. Vom.
@Lozzlepop that's really good to know. All the best with this next cycle, I hope your body is able to get back to business with ease.
@PaintingOwls Oh I'm with you there - all the "ooo should we try this month, it'll clash with X/Y/Z". Now I am like: dngaf.
@cupcakesandglitter out of interest, what makes you think your last cycle was the first proper cycle you've had? I've been off contraception for 9 months (and trying since then) and I'm not sure if everything is working. I get some signs e.g. fertile CM, what I think might be ovulation pains and a somewhat regular period (varies from 27 days to 35 days!). I'm going to temp this month for the first time as from what I've read, that's a pretty good indicator of whether your not you're ovulation.
@winter138 We've been trying for 9 cycles and so far the only people that know are my husband (obvz!) and my acupuncturist. I am considering telling my mum thought, because she really wants grandchildren and keeps making 'joke-y' remarks which she thinks are harmless but are actually kind of tough to deal with. Plus she's an incredibly supportive person and I know she'd be great. But still. The thought of having to tell someone else that it hasn't worked for another month is off-putting.
@Bettythecat How have you found Preseed? I've got some but haven't got the courage up to use it yet!!
@LokiCat so nice you have someone you know in the same position so you can talk it through together. Also LOL at the legs in the air - we've all been there!
@Meenabeen @cupcakesandglitter I love your attitudes about getting your period. It's so easy to be disappointed, but really our bodies are so freaking incredible. That said, if I feel the need to cry, I just let it all out (usually my dog comes bounding up to me and sits with me which is just the best therapy). And then afterwards I feel so much better and positive for the journey ahead. But I feel like I need that initial release if that makes sense?
@CB87 congrats - what amazing news!!
@Mirana 'boil myself in the tub with prosecco' - haha love it!! Hope your mum recovers well and you don't find the baby visit too upsetting.
