Hi everyone! I’ve started a new thread as we are dangerously close to 1000 posts in the last one! I’ll add a link to it now :) Here’s hoping it’s a lucky one!

@dahlia123 thank you!! I’ve read that the static smiley means 24-48hrs til O?
We’ve been DTD so much this last few days that I’ll be amazed if we can manage tomorrow too.
I guess it only takes once??!!

ELW85 · 13/05/2019 23:00

@dollywilde
From what I understand the CB ones aren’t that sensitive so why don’t you try the hyper sensitive ones you can get from Amazon and see if it’s just that your surge is more detectable on those?
Also, I don’t think luteal phases can be longer than 16 days (avg 12-14) so maybe test from CD11 and see what happens?

If it puts your mind at rest, I think 1/20 cycles is anovulatory but they happen to everyone and if you have a period regularly, it’s extremely unlikely that they’re all anovulatory :)

MrsEG · 14/05/2019 06:22

@Tropicana1 Ah I was thinking about you yesterday!! How are you feeling? Are you out of hospital?

@DayDreamer1707 Yes, officially late now! One mountain conquered ha!

This is today’s test, 15DPO. Will stop testing now and get myself to the GP! Good luck to everyone testing this week!

Morning ladies! DH and I went for a walk to the local dessert place yesterday. Ended the night with a hot fudge sundae and I have no regrets 🙊
Milky cm continues. 5dpo today (I think..)

@MrsEG so pleased for you! Congratulations again 😊 wishing you a healthy 9 months xx

Have a lovely day all 😬 x

MrsEG · 14/05/2019 07:24

@LokiCat Sounds delicious! We went to the local bakery before taking the dog out for ‘walking pretzels’ - I regret nothing!! FX for the rest of your TWW, 5DPO you sometimes feel like time is standing still! Hope it flies by!

Meenabeena · 14/05/2019 07:25

@MrsEG Congratulations 😊 xx

LokiCat · 14/05/2019 07:39

@MrsEG yum! I love pretzels. Thanks! Time does feel like it's moving very slowly, but hopefully a few busy days at work will speed it up!
Have you been getting many symptoms? I know it's still early right now.
Also, did you DTD every day during your fw this cycle?

MrsEG · 14/05/2019 07:43

@LokiCat I felt like my boobs were sore at 7DPO but then it stopped, and I had nothing else! From 12DPO though they’re getting progressively more sore again, I’m very thirsty and peeing a lot!

We did SMEP this month, so every other day from CD8 and then 3 days from solid smiley - but this ended up being 4 days in a row for us just due the the way the dates fell!! We then also did it once more for luck 🙊 Poor DH was half the man he used to be by the end of it!! But the last one was just for fun I reckon, we definitely must have caught it around ov day :) Just keeping fingers and toes crossed it sticks now - these early days are terrifying!

Meenabeena · 14/05/2019 08:08

@MrsEG If we fail to conceive this month will try that next month. Was CD 8 yesterday and we had planned to BD but after breaking our fast we was so tired, could not find the energy to do anything *face palm. Hopefully we can try today

LokiCat · 14/05/2019 08:13

@MrsEG haha! At least he powered through!! Plus it was all worth it 😊
We didn't do SMEP but 3 days in a row when I got my positive OPK and then once more with a days rest in between so hopefully we've caught it!

Yeah, as much as you try to enjoy the early days, I remember mine just consisted of running to the toilet to check constantly! Have everything crossed for you that this is a sticky bean ❤️

Jessikka · 14/05/2019 08:20

Morning Ladies 👋🏻

Hope you're all well!

I'm in limbo 🙈 I had crazy cramps after my OPK that lasted two days. Quite painful too!
Then my temp didn't rise; suggesting I didn't ovulate. However I think my thermometer is on the brink. It failed the one day as it turned itself off and another day the beeping sounded like it was depleting. I will grab another in time for next month to be safe!

Either I did ovulate and I'm 4dpo or I didn't and it's just a whacky month. We shall see :)

Very happy to see a thick lovely line there @MrsEG - 💓 x

ELW85 · 14/05/2019 08:27

Morning all

Congrats again @MrsEG!! So happy for you 😊

In what I can only assume was the shortest LH surge in history it’s back to high today and we didn’t manage to DTD last night. We’ve been pretty consistent (haha!) for the past few days, so I’m hoping it’s enough.

I hate when you second guess yourself though and think about what could have been done differently.

Never mind, I guess I’m 1DPO - the countdown begins!!

Sunshine41 · 14/05/2019 08:33

Hi everyone, has any one heard of fertility smart or tried it? Reviews look great but they could be fake, not sure if I’m just grasping at straws. What supplements do others take?

ELW85 · 14/05/2019 08:47

@sunshine41 I think we’re all on Pregnacare conception, haha!
I think it depends on what you need. I’ve heard great things about Vitex and bought a pack to balance my cycle out but it’s almost resolved it by itself so I haven’t tried it yet...

Marleym28 · 14/05/2019 08:49

Static flashy arrived today.
Was thinking of SMEP, am I too late or is today the day? And also it's every other day then every day when it's static? Or have I got it wrong?

Sunshine41 · 14/05/2019 09:06

@ELW85 I tried pregnacare first and it gave me a bad stomach. So went onto seven seas. But looking at IVF soon so trying to do everything possible before that

Meenabeena · 14/05/2019 09:06

Anyone use the Glow app? If so how do you find it? I've just downloaded it and like the way it shows pregnancy probability depending on cycle day.

starkid · 14/05/2019 09:11

@Marleym28 - yes I think from static smiley you do it every day for 3 days

ELW85 · 14/05/2019 09:11

@Sunshine41 - 100% do your research on Vitex. They’ve actually been prescribing it in Germany for years to balance hormones.
Basically, it regulates everything so if you O too early, it lengthens it and if your LP is too short, it sorts that out too.
Make sure you get a decent brand that doesn’t have fillers, but I’ve heard amazing things about it.
There’s some decent reading to do on it, so I’d definitely check it out!

@Marleym28 - you’re not too late :) every day from static smiley! Enjoy!

purplefig · 14/05/2019 09:13

@LikeTheFruit keep us posted haha! I take mine before I go to bed as by then I've had dinner (you're supposed to take on a full stomach) and I never miss them as they're right there on my bedside table. Does mean I wake up and have the brightest neon yellow wee EVER.

@Dollywilde do you temp? As far as I can gather, that's a pretty solid way of working out whether or not you ovulate, as you get a clear shift in temps when you do. It's my first month trying temping and I'm not finding it too much of a faff.

@MrsEG huge congratulations lovely! How exciting Grin will you stick around on here for a while and keep us in the loop please?! p.s. walking pretzels are the best idea....

@LokiCat that sounds INCREDIBLE. Do you know, I was thinking about doing something similar last night (crepes, though) and in the end was too lazy to get up and go Blush

@ELW85 I know what you mean about second guessing yourself. I keep thinking I should just forget everything and aim to have sex enough throughout the month. But it's cycle 9 and I'm starting to get a bit more..erm...desperate!

@Sunshine41 I haven't heard of that - like @ELW85** said, I've just started taking the pregnacare conception. Prior to that I was just taking a generic brand of folic acid, but the ladies on here recommended pregnacare and I got a 2 month supply for my husband and I for £12ish from Amazon.

@Marleym28 As I understand, SMEP (hate the way that word sounds haha) is sex every other day up until ovulation and then three days on the trot.

How's everyone's Tuesday going so far? I've got a load of work to crack on with, but those blue skies and sunshine are calling...!

Sunshine41 · 14/05/2019 09:30

@ELW85 and @purple fig
Maybe I should try pregnacare again I thought it was the iron giving me a bad stomach so someone recommended liquid iron which is gentle on stomach so been taking that with one a day conception. I have heard about Vitex it is in this fertility smart supplement. I think I read so much I’m never sure what’s good and what’s not. I’m 41 and trying for my first so time is not on my side. All tests have come back normal, fertility specialist said maybe I’ve got endo but I have none of the symptoms. He wants to do laparoscopy but also wants £4000 for the pleasure of doing it :(

purplefig · 14/05/2019 09:41

@Sunshine41 did you take pregnacare after a full meal? If not, it could quite easily make you feel sick. I had to take iron for a while and found the same. For what it's worth, I'm with you on the info overload!

Strange they think you have endo, because like you say it's normally coupled with lots of symptoms. I listened to this podcast the other day (www.listennotes.com/podcasts/the-food-medic/09-periods-fertility-the-4NmZwSMjo83/), it was with Dr.Anita Mitra, a.k.a @gynaegeek, and she spoke about fertility and a bit about endo. Could be worth a listen?

Can you get further investigations done with the NHS without having to pay?

Sunshine41 · 14/05/2019 09:50

@ purple fig it was a while ago I was on pregnacare think I tried taking with meals etc but still upset my stomach. I use iron water which seems to help. But feel like maybe I could change or try different supplements as been trying for a while.
Ok thanks I will try and listen to that podcast, the specialist I saw is also the NHS doctor so still wants to operate before IVF but I didn’t get a great vibe as obviously don’t want to operate if I don’t have an issue.

Lozzlepop · 14/05/2019 10:08

@LokiCat it was an amazing holiday, we flew out on Christmas Eve which is my birthday and stayed for a week 🙂

@purplefig exactly, pretty much all the holidays we have been on together have been really full on with sightseeing etc so it will be a nice change for us just to relax ☀️

@LikeTheFruit I love Prague, glad you had a good time, fingers crossed OV is on the way!

@DayDreamer1707 but I cant wait until Thursday to know 😂

@MrsEG thats a good looking line ❤️

Hows the weather for everyone today? It is absolutely roasting in Edinburgh, bare legs out and no jacket- bliss!!

Tropicana1 · 14/05/2019 10:33

@MrsEG yea out of hospital and back home now which is nice! Getting there slowly but recovery is harder than I was expecting. I'm doing ok, got an early scan coming up soon to check if the surgery etc has impacted the pregnancy so at least then I'll know one way or the other how things are, feel a little bit in limbo at the moment!
