All aboard...kickstarting the June bus as trying to remain positive now AF has just arrived.

This is me...

TTC: 3
Age: 39
Cycle: 2
CD: 1
AF/BFP due: 1st June

Going for number 3, but first with DP. Bit worried about my age and just coming off the pill but cycles seem pretty normal. Doing OPKs and night start temping.

Good luck everyone. Look forward to joining you on this journey. Next!

I joined this chat near the beginning and said AF was due 2nd June.....well the witch showed up this morning. I've been quiet as I knew deep down AF was on the way, my boobs have been sore for days which is a tell tale sign. Next AF is due 30th June so I'm technically still in this group for next time!

On a positive note my cycles are exactly 29 days and ovulation seems to be CD18 ish (used OPK this time to be certain) so I feel like I at least know my body now since coming off the pill in February Smile

That's the only positive I can think of....now going back to clinging my hot bottle water and feeling sorry for myself!

Tamalama · 02/06/2019 11:32

So I was on the May bus but I came on on 31st May, which was spot on according to my tracker. As if it's not bad enough that af has come, today I'm in agony with cramps and intense lady pains, currently in bed with a hot water bottle and painkillers 😭

Onwards and upwards though, my fertile period starts 7th and due to ovulate on the 12th according to my tracker, which is always correct. This will be cycle number 3.... 🤞

Tamalama · 02/06/2019 11:34

@SweetChillis I totally know how you're feeling re cramps and using a hot water bottle! I'm the same today... my next af is due 26th June so I'll be on the June bus the whole of this month too...

Stilltobeseen · 02/06/2019 11:50

Any tips to stop symptom spotting? I feel like I'm not paying attention to things but the minute I feel a twinge I'm like, 'oh is that something?' I keep telling myself it's too early, to be realistic and just relax but finding it really hard when I want this sooo badly. I'm not convinced I'll be lucky enough to conceive right away anyway so don't want my hopes up either but it's so difficult.
Anyone feeling the tww strain?

SweetChillis · 02/06/2019 12:15

@Tamalama hopefully we both get good news at the end of the month! I feel a bit silly hugging a hot water bottle, it's 26 degrees outside, DP thinks I'm nuts!

Savvysaz · 02/06/2019 12:46

Ladies if you’re using clearblue OPKs how many days of flashing smileys do you usually get before peak?

mommato3 · 02/06/2019 13:49

7dpo. Boobs quite tender today. Fingers crossed it's a good sign....

GemSmith738 · 02/06/2019 13:56

@savvysaz I'm currently on day 4 of flashing smiley and wondering the same thing!? Anyone ?

Catconfusion · 02/06/2019 14:08

@Savvysaz and @GemSmith738 it all depends how long your cycles are. If your cycles are irregular it's difficult to estimate when to start testing. For example if you ovulate on day 25 and you start on day 15 you'll get 10 flashing smileys probably. If you're regular you can follow the instructions for your cycle length included in the pack. For anyone irregular it's guesswork. I gave up in the end due to irregular cycles.

mrssunshinexxx · 02/06/2019 14:58

Can anyone help please sorry if abit tmi

Af started on Thursday evening and basically my today there is nothing I have put a liner in all day but isn't really needed

Isit unusual to have a period that only 3/4 days ?

Second month of ttc so really want to make sure my dates any everything are going to be accurate but worrying now about length of af

mrssunshinexxx · 02/06/2019 15:02

Also ovia has my fertile window as 15th - 20th this month and flow has it as 10th- 18th can someone please tell me why the dates are so different x

Catconfusion · 02/06/2019 15:03

@mrssunshinexxx Don't worry about the length of AF. Mine last a day and I've been pregnant twice. I mc both times but unrelated to length of AF. The doctor told me it's normal so 3/4 days is a good length. Longer periods are more of a worry as a thick endometrium can stop implantation. Xx

Catconfusion · 02/06/2019 15:05

Also @mrssunshinexxx different apps have different algorithms. The only way to know for sure when you're generally fertile is with opks and temping. I personally find temping with Ovusense the most reliable way! X

mrssunshinexxx · 02/06/2019 15:08

@Catconfusion thanks so much for responding that's helpful.

I don't want to become too obsessed yet told myself I would do this month jusy using apps but last months fertile windows were much more similar than June's.
I also knew when I ovulated last month just by my body so hopefully that will happen again.

If I don't catch on this month I will definitely explore temping in July x

Catconfusion · 02/06/2019 15:16

@mrssunshinexxx if you have regular cycles and can feel ovulation I wouldn't worry too much about temping unless it's not happening over a few months. Just dtd every other day starting around cd 10 until it's happened! X

mrssunshinexxx · 02/06/2019 15:18

@Catconfusion Sorry probably very obvious answer what does cd stand for?

What cycle are you on x

Flowers88 · 02/06/2019 16:07

Girls.... I think I’ve got a bfp.... it’s really early days but obviously couldn’t hold out til AF due 🙄 it’s on an early response one but the line is SO faint 😳 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻 Will keep you posted! I’ve been symptom spotting all 2ww and feel like I already knew 🤯waaaah!!

Catconfusion · 02/06/2019 16:14

@mrssunshinexxx it's cycle day. I'm day 24 with annoyingly no O yet. My O day has ranged from 14 to 36 so far. I always get there though. X

mrssunshinexxx · 02/06/2019 16:18

So 10 days after af finished which is yesterday/ today I should try to dtd every day or every other day and that should cover me ?

@Flowers88 exciting ! Have you got a pic

Flowers88 · 02/06/2019 16:32

I tried but my phone is too rubbish to pick the faint line up! Going to test again nearer AF due date as I’m only 8/9dpo I think. I was 9dpo when I found out I was pregnant with my eldest so 🤞🏻🤪

Catconfusion · 02/06/2019 16:44

The nhs recommends every other day. If you think you ovulate around day 14 I'd start now. You should be covered then. Good luck! Xx

Ohana6419 · 02/06/2019 16:45

@mrssunshinexxx You count the first day of AF as CD1 hun x

mrssunshinexxx · 02/06/2019 16:57

I ovulated on cd 18 last month...

Argh none of it is simply what if we dtd every other day then miss doing it on actual o day?!

X

Catconfusion · 02/06/2019 17:19

If you think you could do say 10, 12, 14, 16, 18 and 20 you're probably covered in case you O early. If it's reliably day 18 every month I'd start day 14. There's something called SMEP. Not sure if you've heard of it. You could try that.

@flowers88 I've got everything crossed for you. We need to get the ball rolling with some lovely BFPs and I think you are just the lady to start things off!
