I’m 26 with a 8 year old boy I had my implant taken out about 6 years ago I haven’t been on any contraception in that time and Iv only had about 5 periods. I was concerned about it so went to the doctors I had some tests and a scan done and everything is fine and healthy , I was concerned that I wouldn’t be able to get pregnant but the doctors have said I shouldn’t have any issues, has anyone else gotten pregnant without Periods?

Doctors are stumped by this kind of problem. They have 2 methods of treating absent periods. First is contraceptive pill and if you're trying to get pregnant this won't work so their second option is IVF. They will tell you there's no problem, go away and try so that when you inevitably come back they can send you for IVF.

If you're not having periods you're probably not ovulating. Absent periods is common after the pill but you've been off contraception for so long that I would have expected your period to return.

What tests did you have done? You need full female hormone panel done at three different times during the month plus adrenal panel to get a good picture.

They took my bloods and tested for something else but if I’m honest I can’t remeber what it was as it’s been years , I am overweight so I understand that doesn’t help but iv always been overweight and had normal periods before , Iv been told by nurses and midwives you can ovulate without having a period Which I knew but obviously it’s harder to know when without having a bleed , my first port of call is to lose some weight and hope that it makes a difference

I have very irregular periods if any and have a 2 year old. I was getting referred to gynae for the second time when I fell pregnant with him after trying for a few years. I assumed that would of been a month I'd have got a period. We are trying again now and I have been back to the doctors as I haven't had any periods since having my son. This will be the third time this has been investigated and a cause has never been found. They have just given me 5 days of provera to see if I have a withdrawal bleed and I have to have bloods taken on certain days depending on whether I have a bleed or not. Its so difficult isn't. I just feel its so stressful trying when you have no clue what your body is doing! Hope you have some luck soon!

Thank you! Iv spoke to a couple of different women on here that have gotten pregnant without periods so it gives me hope! I haven’t started trying yet so fingers crossed it won’t be a nightmare 🤞🏻

I had this after coming off Depo Provera. Eventually after lots of pushing and insisting I was prescribed Clomid which kickstarted my ovulation.
