In your experiences, when is the best time to take a FRER test? I’m not sure when my period will come this month as I ovulated later than expected but I know that I’m currently around 9DPO. When did your positives show?

About 12 DPO

bumblingalonghappily · 27/04/2019 10:01

9dpo for me

abcriskringle · 27/04/2019 10:13

First pregnancy didn't get a sniff of a line until 11/12dpo. This time I got a squinter at 9dpo. So it depends!

10dpo, however very very faint

Your period is 14 days after ovulation, no matter when ovulation happens so around 5 days away if you're 9dpo.

Personally I'd wait until as close to af due day as possible as you'll get a better result. implantation can take up to 12 days from ovulation and you won't get a positive test until after implantation because that's what starts hcg production.

Good luck 🤞

No it isn't @codenameduchess my luteal phase is 12 days, so my period arrives 13 days after ovulation.

Typically its between 10-16 days between ovulation and your period starting. 14 days is based on a 28 day cycle and ovulating bang in the middle.

codenameduchess · 27/04/2019 11:05

Well excuse me for not adding caveat that it can vary. Generally it's 14 days, some can be shorter or longer but if you're unsure it's best to assume around 14 days form ovulation.
Late ovulation doesn't affect luteal phase, which was my point.

Thank you for all of your replies! This is our 4th cycle of trying. I’ve been using the Clearblue advanced digital OPKs from the very beginning. I now find it interesting though as I’ve had my LH surge around the time the Flo app said - around day 12 of my cycle (normally - this month it was later at day 17) yet my cycle has been really varying - 26, 28, 31 and 24! Me and DH have timed sex totally around the high and fertile time. We had it so much in the timeframe that we both needed a rest 😂! I’m wondering if it’s not been as straightforward as I’ve expected relying totally on the tests? This month, we’ve done things differently and tried the SMEP and also used Preseed. We shall see, not feeling very optimistic but I can’t help but think the worst - Anxious Annie!
