TTC at Christmas - Planning ahead!!!!!

Thought I would start a new thread to see if anyone else is thinking about TTC towards the end of the year (boringly forward planned I know!)

This will be number 3 for me but have a bit of a gap (DD 6.5 & DD2 nearly 5). Have wanted to go for number three for over a year now but DH not convinced. However out of the blue he agreed and we are looking at going for it towards Christmas. Personally I'd go for it now but we have a special "10 years together" holiday booked for December so have agreed to wait till then.

However as have never "planned" a baby b4 am very excited aout the prospect this time and was hoping to meet netters in the same boat to keep me sane!! Am on the pill but planning on coming off at the end of my latest prescription (end Oct). Wasn't sure when was the best time to do the pre-pregnancy vitamins? Is it usually three months before

Look forward to hearing from others playing the same waiting game.

Me too - need to conceive Nov on as I want to get through another yr of college next year. I have a huge gap of 13 and 11 yrs so am very very nervous but v excited and broody as well. I currently have coil in so am going to have it removed after hols in August and start trying in October.

Sassylou · 21/07/2007 15:31

Good to know I am not alone.

Not sure I will be able to hold out on pill till end Oct, might see if I can come off sooner and use something else until Nov/Dec.

Wisteria - big gap!! I am definately more excited this time, poss cos got time to think about it.

New mantra....."Patience is a virtue, patience is a virtue, patience is a virtue!!!!!!!"

not sure, think there must be a touch of the eccentric old English bat here tbh

Sassylou · 21/07/2007 16:15

Eccentric old English bat goes without saying given that we're contemplating no. 3!

Personally I think its fab, although I'm a bit nervous in case it isn't such a breeze third time round. Boringly straightforward conception, pregnancy and babies with 1st two. Who knows what number 3 will be like. Not sure I'll know what's what this time!

You are not alone, we will be tying from end of October time, and starting to do charts, DD will be 2 in January so we think good timing.

Sassylou · 21/07/2007 17:19

This is fab, we're getting a few forward planning souls together now.

I wish you all well but please don't feel too worried if it takes you a bit longer than you have planned. I fell with ds at the first time of asking and it has just taken us a year to conceive number 2.

Sassylou · 21/07/2007 17:25

Thanks Beansprout, I keep telling DH we may not be so speedy efficient third time round but he is still convinved he is Mr Super-fertile . I guess only time will tell.

I don't even know if my bits still work 2.5 years is a super gap, has worked really well for my 2 dds.

Heartmum2Jamie · 30/07/2007 14:51

I would also like to start TTC in December, although maybe I should talk it over with hubby 1st?!

This will also be our 3rd child, we have 2 ds's who were 6 in May and 3 in June. After ds2, we said a hugs NO WAY to any more as he was the most difficutl baby, but it turned out he had multiple health problems and now that he is stable and growing well, he has turned into mr independant and I find the broodiness and longing have kicked in. Thankfully I know that dh wouldn't mind another as we mututally agreeed to keep all our baby stuff and put it in the loft ready for another little one.

I am very excited and somewhat scared. I have been pregnant 3 times now (m/c in betwen ds's) and each time we fell straight away, so I fear that it could take a while this time. I also have a hubby that swaggers around and claims he has "super sperm"!

I am not on birth control, just condoms (hate the damn things!), so we will be ready to go when the time comes. I just need to see the dr and ask about pre-natals, whether I need to avoid allergen in my diet and anything else I can possible do to make sure my little bean wil be healthy if possible.

Only another 4 1/2 months to wait, still lots of time to practice

Razian · 31/07/2007 09:58

Me too!!!

Ds1 is 14mo and we are getting broody, but I am a phd student and, having taken one lot of mat-leave think I'd better finish before taking another so we are waiting til the new year.

We are assuming it won't happen straight away but if it did then ds will be 2.4.

I am so excited even though its months away!!

lockets24 · 07/09/2007 08:29
