I know it says on the pack not to, but can you read anything into the lines on the actual test stick?

I got a solid empty circle so negative but the rest stick had the dark control line and then a lighter line like a normal OPK.

Is it the first one of those you’ve done? Normally it takes a couple for it to get a base line to help it to detect a change in hormones. I always went by the circle/smiley when I used them.

Ah thanks @JohnoWhits This was the second but to be honest I didn't pay much attention to the strip yesterday so not sure if it showed a line or not!

The test line will go darker when it is positive, but there is almost always a faint line even when negative so it is not that useful to read into it.
I have always found the CB tests to be pretty accurate though.

Thanks @FlapJackered. My basic OPK strip has got slightly darker today so I am hoping that the ClearBlue will start to pick something up in the next few days. First cycle off the pill so have no idea when to expect anything but taking this as a good sign that something is happening somewhere.

Well 3rd day of using and I got a fixed smiley today, no flashing ones before though

That's great, yes sometimes you don't get a flashing smiley, it just means your LH and oestrogen is rising at the same time.
Now you're likely to ovulate in the next 12-36 hours so get bding!

Luckily we did it last night just for fun haha!
