In a right old pickle with My Tracker period-tracking app

Hi ladies,

My LMP was 27th March and I have a 28 day cycle. I had a blazing positive OPK on 9th April and it has predicted my next period is due on 20th April. I'm confused - isn't that a 24 day cycle? Shouldn't it be due on 23rd?

In March my period arrived exactly two weeks after a positive OKP so I suspect the prediction of 20th for AF is wrong.

I've attached last month's and this month's charts for reference. Any advice would be appreciated. I'm waiting to take a FRER and was going to do it on Wednesday but not sure if I should wait now.

I find apps to be completely hit and miss to be honest. I have had 3 on the go since August last year and they have all told me different things. I find Clue accurate at telling me when AF is due every other month (weird I know) but no app is able to accurately predict my fertile window so I use OPKs and temping for that.

Perhaps your app is taking in other data but if you're usually a 14 day luteal phase person then stick with what you know!

@emmyloucuddles thanks for your reply. Which apps do you use? I'll install a couple of others and input the data and see if I get different results. I think you might be right, I think it's out by 3/4 days which means my 2WW feels even longer as I was expecting AF on 20th April (based on the app)!

@Squiff70 I mostly use Clue for cycle tracking and Fertility Friend for temping and ovulation. 🙄 I have Kindara too but not a fan of that one.

Are you normally very regular - like 28 days every cycle? Because mine do fluctuate by at least a couple of days every month and the difference between the calendars you attached isn't huge! So maybe it is right. It is frustrating with these apps - the only way to have a real clear picture of your cycle is temping which is a commitment!

I'm going to throw caution to the wind and do a FRER in the morning (9DPO). I installed Flo and don't think much of it to be honest. I much prefer My Tracker - only problem is I don't know if it's accurate with this month's AF dates or not!

The predicted AF dates don't make sense. I wouldn't focus on them at all, more on your opks. Also just want to add it's more likely you are 8dpo tomorrow. Opks detect the LH surge which comes a day or two before ovulation (just in case it's negative, you may just be testing too early)
