Hi there,

This is my first post so hopefully I am doing this in the right place?? Let me know if there is another more appropriate group if this one isn't correct.

I have recently been taken under the care of Dr Shehata in Epsom having had 5 miscarriages (chemical) and an ectopic pregnancy over the last 3 years. I have now started my treatment and I am on to phase 2 so a few months down the line and feeling positive.

I am posting on here to find out who else is going through a similar situation? I have a complex level of natural killer cells and possible Hughes syndrome which is the coagulation of my blood. I am due to start my medication in a few weeks and I was really looking for any assistance in how people have felt, the drugs they are taking? This is such a taboo subject that very few people around my husband and I actually know what is happening which makes it very difficult to talk other than to each other.
Thank you for any words of advice in advance
x

Hi @AcornHill - there's a long-running thread on this, and many of the posters are under Dr Shehata so it will probably be really useful for you. Search for something like "pred thread no.22" in Conception.

I've been diagnosed with elevated NK cells and prednisone seems to be the standard treatment - I'm currently in my 4th IVF cycle with all my fingers and toes crossed!

Hi @RedPandaFluff - thank you so much that's really helpful.

Yes that's what I have been prescribed, 25mg of it daily at time of ovulation along with Omeprazole and Cyclogest.

I had to take Humira initially and unfortunately had a reaction to it which always makes you a bit concerned about the next round of drugs!

Keeping everything crossed for your 4th ivf cycle, sending you lots of positivity x
