Post pill, how long until AF

Post pill day 70 tomorrow. Feeling absolutely fine and pleased to be off the pill but not a sniff of my AF. I hear it takes a lot of people quite some time before their period but how long was it for you?

Wish I'd factored this in. What a fool I was. Although in all fairness I'm surrounded by people who came off the pill, went straight back to pre-pill and got pregnant first try. (they're soon to be deleted Wink)

I was on the pill for 11 years and came off it last July. AF returned immediately but still no BFP. Had a chemical last month and I suspect that’s my hormones just regulating after coming off the pill and being on it for so long. I never used to notice EWCM in first few cycles and AF was very light. I’ve noticed a big difference last few cycles. Everyone is different but it’s definitely taking me a while for hormones etc to get in order and as I said I’m still not pregnant.

On it for only 1 year, but 3 months until first AF for me. Got pregnant the next month though. Hang in there!

Hi im currently on day 104 post pill and not even the slightest hint of AF yet! I feel your frustration completely xx

Mycrazylife85 · 02/04/2019 22:24

@Calixtine goodness, it's obviously nothing to do with the length of time on it then, 1 year isn't long. I'm pleased it turned out to be a short journey after for you too ☺️

@Beddie11 blimey!! You're a bit ahead there. That's rubbish for you. I can see this bring me though. Can I ask, how long were you on it for?

11years.. microgynon! Which one were u on? Ive been to the doctors, i went at the 3month mark and they are going to do some blood tests xx

Mycrazylife85 · 02/04/2019 22:47

@Beddie11 my last pill was marvalon, which I was in for a few years, but I was years on cilest before that, and dianette before that. I mentioned to the nurse I had stopped the pill when I went for repeat blood test for b12 and I hadn't as yet had a period, she indicated not to come back until 6 months but I have read 3 before myself. We're your doctors good? I think that sounds a good response. I'd be worried I'd be fobbed off or made to feel silly

I had also read 3 months which is why i decided to go, but i was alittle dubious about going as i thought they might send me away until the 6month mark. Luckily the doctor i saw was really good and said obviously the question is am i ovulating or not, he recommended i had some blood tests which im going for this week. Not sure what they actually look for in the tests! So i think its the luck of the draw really with the doctors whether they send u away for another 3months or start investigating straight away xx

Beddie11 · 06/05/2019 21:13

Hi all, just a quick update from me. AF finally showed up this weekend for me! Yayy, which makes it just over 4.5 months since stopping the pill! So dont give up hope it really can arrive any time! Xx
