I have been charting for 6 months now but it seems to be getting harder to pinpoint ovulation as my temps seem to be all over the place. Anyway this month I got a very positive opk 6 days ago but ff still hasn't picked up ovulation and I am getting worried it just won't happen this month. Here's my chart, what do you guys think?

I always think BBT is hard to get right so I would go off your OPK - have you continued testing with OPKs to watch the line fade or is it still really strong? X

Daisypod · 01/04/2019 09:06

Yes I kept doing them and they faded the next day and are now blank again. I tempted before having ds1 and it worked perfectly then so I am just finding this so frustrating. Maybe I need a better thermometer.

Have you changed the batteries in your thermometer? Presumably you are testing at the same time each day, after at least 3 hours’ uninterrupted sleep, avoiding alcohol etc?

I’d think you ovulated on 25/26 but that FF isn’t picking it up because of how your temps bounced around before ovulation.

Daisypod · 01/04/2019 10:47

I mostly manage to do it t at the same time, within 30 mins and after a full nights sleep. I can't say it is always after no alcohol though but only the odd glass of wine 😉

Hmm, see what your temp does tomorrow. If it shoots back up then I'd think you ovulated on CD17/the 29th. You're looking for an overall trend, not day to day movements.

Kinsters · 01/04/2019 13:41

Although having said that, some people don't see a temp rise till a few days after ovulation so the day after your positive opk could be a possibility as well.

I do it first thing as soon as I wake and only move to put up the thermometer from bedside table, always do it orally.
I like to temp along with opks as they don't tell you whether you have ovulated only that you have the hormone surge before ovulation.
I think I will get a new thermometer but it is hard to find a decent one, lots on amazon have bad reviews.

Have you tried vaginal temps? I find that my temps are much more consistent this way. I use a baby mad thermometer that I got for under £10 on amazon. I'd say you ovulated on 27th or 28th but it's difficult to say for sure.

Also have you tried discarding the temps that you took at different times. That may help to smooth it
