Periods after pill

I know it can take a while for periods to get back to normal after taking the pill but after I stopped the pill in October I had two 31 day cycles (December and January) then had a 54 day cycle in February. I am on day 31 today of my current cycle (no af yet).....find it strange that I had two cycles exactly the same then for them to become irregular....just wondering if there’s anyone else going through the same or anyone that had had previous experience???

@Hoping87 I could have written this myself! I also came off the pill in the beginning of October last year, got a withdrawal bleeding straight away (not real period) and then nothing until 10th if Dec or so when I got a first period. After this, I waited until 20th of Jan and nothing, so called an OBGYN to book in an appointment.

She prescribed me dydrogesterone (almost like progesterone) to take for a week to induce my period and hopefully kickstart our back to normal. Got my period one week later, and that cycle was 30 days long (this was my last cycle)! I am currently on CD 32 and in TWW, so still waiting to see if sort of back to normal (or hopefully pregnant!!!).

I have been ovulating last month as well as this (charting, digital OPK sticks and CM tracking).

I saw in another thread that it can take really long to go back to normal cycles after stopping the pill after many years (the girls in that thread were about 8 months in).

So my advice is to seek out help to kickstart your period. I don't know your age but I'm 35 so felt I have no time to lose to start TTC for #1.

Good luck!!

@SunStruck thanks for your reply...I’m 31, 32 this year, started ttc first baby in January...I’m going to see what happens this cycle and if I end up having another long cycle I will make an appointment to see the nurse and get her advice/opinion! So frustrating isn’t it! Xx

@Hoping87 it really is! Always been so scared of getting pregnant as not ready, I only got married September last year! I should of come off the pill way before this but I had no clue it would be this difficult.

I really recommend to still chart as you might be ovulating anyway although your cycles are long (I did). Good luck let me know how you are getting on x

I'm came off the pill in January and since my usual withdrawal, absolutely nothing. Currently on day 67....
and waiting, and waiting...
I have PCOS so fully expect to wait 6 months then go to the doctors. I'm 33. Wish I'd have come off the pill years ago
