I found my vaginal temps to be much more stable than oral, I'm not a mouth breather.

I know this may sound stupid, and slightly tmi, but I’m asking anyway....
When chatting temps vaginally, obviously you still do it same time everyday. But say you get up early (5am) for work, but on days off you clearly want to have a lie in, you take your temp as normal. But now you’ve got a thermometer that’s been up you vagina so you need to get out of bed, clean it and then attempt to go back to sleep. Do you all do this or do you have a pack of wipes next to the bed to give a quick wipe over?
And do you still temp when you’re on a period? In which case there’s no way you leave a thermometer with blood on it, so must get out of bed again for cleaning.

I need to know the logistics, because I don’t trust my oral temps and I’ve basically given up because of the above issues.... I promise I’m not a temping troll, I just really don’t want to get up at 5am everyday. But I also really want to conceive.

I used to take my temp and deal with cleaning it later, sounds gross but I would sanitise it with alcohol. Your temperature varies when on your period so I would always wait until after my period to start again for that cycle. Especially after I switched to ovusense which is a wearable overnight sensor, the instructions with that were not to temp on your period.

Daisyboo70 · 21/03/2019 17:34

APh413 how did you find the ova sense? I bought the Femometer recently so this cycle bbt are with that

I found ovusense very easy to use and get on with, my cycles were very long and irregular which unfortunately meant it couldn't give me an accurate prediction of ovulation, only confirm afterwards. I bought a years subscriptions but only used it for 6 months.
If you decided to buy ovusense you need to look for a discount code, there is always one for 25% off somewhere. They also have a great support group on faceboom

Pinkstars2501 · 21/03/2019 17:45

Oh ok, I didn’t realise you didn’t to temp on your period. That’s good news. And I guess it’s only me who’s going to be handling the thing so it’s no too gross to leave until a more godly hour. Thanks.

Soexciting · 21/03/2019 18:40

I bought the femometer this month too. @daisyboo70 Can you use it vaginally?

I am struggling with waking up in the night needing a wee. It's so hard to wait the 3 minutes when you are desperate for a wee.

Daisyboo70 · 21/03/2019 18:47

There’s nothing in the Femometer info soexciting to say that you can’t take it vaginally. It should also give a faster reading that way

@soexciting I’ve checked with Femometer support they only don’t advise taking temp from armpit (shell temperature) everywhere else is fine
