@FlapJackered what's progesterone cream? Does it help with shortening cycles?

PeacockingAbout · 26/03/2019 17:32

Really sorry to hear that @SunnyL88, hope you get some answers from the Drs.

Welcome @rose555

thosethreewords · 26/03/2019 17:35

Trying to keep up with you all but really busy with work this week, so if I'm quiet, that's why. Oh and also it's FW so therefore trying to get in a bit of BD too haha

Hope you are all ok

orangeloo · 26/03/2019 17:55

Welcome @rose555 this is the best place to be.

@SunnyL88 sorry your going through it. Wishing you all the best Thanks

SunnyL88 · 26/03/2019 18:51

Thanks all I’ll just wait it out. @cupcakesandglitter did you get your period afterwards?

KatBeCool · 26/03/2019 18:55

@FlapJackered you use the cream with the same timing as the pill. Start 2-3 days after confirmed ovulation. With 4dpo you can still start it, it's not horribly late. And you stop it at 14dpo and test. You use 40mg daily, split into two 20mg doses. Hopefully 20mg isn't a handful lol. They say the cream may work better since it's not going through the liver like the pills.

Chembecky · 26/03/2019 19:41

Hi all - I'm new to mumsnet and new to TTC. On CD1 of cycle 2...

Lola871 · 26/03/2019 20:09

@FlapJackered I haven't bought an FRER because I don't want to pay that much for what I'm sure is a negative test 🤣 so I just keep doing an IC each morning and getting exactly the same super faint squinty line that I'm convinced must just be the indent.....
AF isn't due until Thursday and by my longest cycle could be as late as Monday so I'm just going to wait and see if it shows I think!

thosethreewords · 26/03/2019 20:19

@SunnyL88 oh love I'm so sorry. I really really hope the blood test shows something for you

@rose555 welcome to the gang! Hope your stay is short with us though 🙃

@FlapJackered nope not taken progesterone cream. Is this to prolong LP or stop spotting or something? Sorry I've no idea!! I feel like @KatBeCool Is our resident expert on all things fertility - thank you!

@Welshpugmomma sorry about your DH's results. Hopefully since he has some modifications he can do, that might make the difference

KatBeCool · 26/03/2019 20:58

@thosethreewords I do a lot of research lol. I also read about progesterone cream when I was trying to find out when to start taking the capsules. I guess it was useful to read the other stuff.

Lottiepink · 26/03/2019 21:23

@rose555 haha I know it's so good to have have someone close to my cycle 😊

@KatBeCool your knowledge is fab 😉I also try to read up on things with ttc for a while now, but don't know what you are talking about with them tablets or cream 🤷🏻‍♀️🤣

@SunnyL88 hope you are ok 😘

@thosethreewords good luck with FW, I'm in the same boat 👌

@Chembecky hi 👋🏻 and welcome 😊

@Lola871 fingers crossed for you😊

I'm on CD17 and using the sticks, my app says I ov'd on cd20 last cycle but I actually thought it was cd18 (I thought I knew better 😂)... which both days are late as per my usual cycle. But this one been using more sticks than usual and still not had a positive, but an almost yesterday morning then later in the day and today hardly a mark or anything (testing around 3 times a day) I don't actually know what's going on???

PeacockingAbout · 26/03/2019 21:35

Thank you @Jessikka, @LikeTheFruit, @cucpakesandglitter and @FlapJackered - I need to be more selfish with work!

Buuuut - the broken Superdrug test was positive when I got home yesterday. Totally unreliable obvs so got some from Sainsburys (only had blue dye bluegh!), it's a right squinter but think there is something there...

Due AF tomorrow so if no AF, I'll do a digi on Thursday. DH has implored me to stop peeing on stuff in the interim - he really doesn't want to get our hopes up too much (I tend to go 0 to 100 in milliseconds)

But hopes are now up (and give much less fucks about work!). My breasts and nips are quite sore and swollen, but today I've started getting quite low, sharp cramping pains just below my belly - so will see if tomorrow brings AF or not.

Lottiepink · 26/03/2019 21:38

@PeacockingAbout ohh wow, Fingers crossed for you!! Post a pic of tonight's 😊

PeacockingAbout · 26/03/2019 21:48

@Lottiepink I totally forgot Hmm! That was taken a bit after the recommended time but I think there is colour in there. Blue dye tests are horrible to read and you can see both lines before you've even peed on it! If the choice is blue dye or no test - chose no test and go somewhere else!

Need to get a digi tomorrow for Thu AM!

TTC first baby - thread 15
Lottiepink · 26/03/2019 21:55

@PeacockingAbout never tried a test like them to be honest, only the off ic one, I can defo see a faint line. But hard to know if they are known to be unreliable...
🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻 for you tho and I can't wait to hear on Thursday already ☺️

PeacockingAbout · 26/03/2019 22:02

Thank you @Lottiepink!

cupcakesandglitter · 26/03/2019 22:07

@FlapJackered that's fair enough - it worked for you last cycle so fx it does again 😊 I'm okay thanks, I'm CD27 now, I'm ready for either BFP or BFN just want to know really xx

@SunnyL88 yeah AF turned up for me a week after I got my BFP, but I'd had BFN for a few days before xx

Definitely @PeacockingAbout I see a line!! Fingers crossed it's a BFP, do you have a FRER? X

KatBeCool · 27/03/2019 02:11

@Lottiepink the cream is available without the prescription, but the other stuff is prescribed. The prescription is stronger and you don't have to slather it on yourself 😂. That's basically it.

@PeacockingAbout that looks positive! Congrats!

Jessikka · 27/03/2019 07:18

Christ yesterday was hard.
Family wedding... with a 9month old being handed around for cwtches.
Brought up the inevitable "when are you having babies".

Ladies I'm not exaggerating, I had 7 different people ask me through the day, then at the reception when people were drunker they discussed ME and my need for a career over a baby and joked I was selfish and how they couldn't believe I was broody holding the baby in her little tights and bridesmaid dress.
I tried politely stopping them, I tried rudely stopping them but it was no good.
The most came from my mum who is so ready for me to have a baby she will faint from excitement but mum please, SHUT UP!

In fairness to her, a lot of wine had been drunk and she doesn't know we've even discussed it let alone being trying since Jan. she probably assumes I'm still putting it off so I can't blame her for asking - but it was hard. The more they went on the more I lied as no one knows I'm trying as I don't want them waiting with me - it's hard enough with my OH waiting with me.

Anyway, onwards and upwards. 7dpo. AF due Sunday.

Jessikka · 27/03/2019 07:19

Sorry angry typing - "couldn't believe I WASNT broody"

Little did they know 😫🙄

Lottiepink · 27/03/2019 07:37

@Jessikka aww it's so awful, hope you are ok!!
I get it too, we haven't told anyone we are trying either, as you then know they are symptom spotting for you too, and then they know if your struggling to conceive etc and I think it's just a whole load more extra pressure. I've been with my DH for 14 years, married for 7, so I think I've been asked for like the last 7 years constantly 🤣🤣

orangeloo · 27/03/2019 07:37

@Chembecky welcome

@Jessikka think we can all relate and feel ure pain. I hate these questions I usually just palm them off with a 'soon' n we renovating a house at the mo so I say we need to get that sorted first. Glad I've got that excuse. Little do they know indeed.

Af is round the corner and I'm excited for cycle 4 as 3 was impossible. OH has gone away for work for 6 days then back for 7 then away for 7 Confused I'm hoping for an early Ov like I had in jan for April to be our month. FX! Have a good day everyone

PeacockingAbout · 27/03/2019 07:40

Oh @Jessikka I'm sorry everyone was hounding you, it's horrible. Why does anyone think it's their business?! Hope you managed to enjoy the wedding otherwise x

Pinksunset1 · 27/03/2019 08:08

Update ladies I had AF over the weekend waited 68 days for it and kindly showed up and still stayed on my birthday. I’m going on to cycle 4 and I have to say found cycle 3 hard as I waited so long on AF got my hopes up to be shattered by the big fat negatives. I’m hoping this is the one trying to keep positive.

starkid · 27/03/2019 08:19

Hi everyone, sorry I've been a bit MIA, am still ill with this horrid flu/cough/cold, plus AF is being a particular bitch this week!

@PeacockingAbout - omg, have you done another/different test this morning?? Exciting!

Welcome @rose555 @Chembecky :) I've added you both to the list for when it's next posted :)
